I think I'll x-post the info & save some people loading time...

First off, Big thanks for Jim Moran and Dan Marks at Speed Inc.

Second off, here it is.

First week of december i sold the "ateam" van and found a 1991 Saturn SL II with 242k miles on it so i bought it for 250.00.

With this idea in mind i told Jim and Dan and first thoughts were, TURBO it. i wasn't against it since i like boost and i don't care about the saturn. Looking around, between the three of us we had so many parts laying around this had to be done. First plans were KKK k03s off an audi s4 sticking out past the hood, total outlaw drag style. Well after looking at the turbos and they aren't the same we opt'd for a larger K03 off an audi 1.8t and the wheel started moving. Single turbo saturn, here we come.

I had to buy a new battery, as the one in it was dead, damn 50 dollars.
we ditched the AC and a new belt was 17.99
Jim fabb'd a header out of the stock one that looks amazing - free
we hooked up an FMU and a used bosch fuel pump that was laying around - free
I had some AN lines and fittings around for the turbo oil system - free
the turbo was free
pipe was free
steel to make the flange free
bolts free
tr-6 spark plugs free
fittings free
rubber hose we had laying around
used a lot of the stock parts for the intake side, and a old rad. hose - free
Dan tapped the oil pan and threaded it for the oil return, and we just used the oil pressure sensor hole for the oil feed.
the exhaust setup is the best.
3' downpipe and comes straight out the passenger fender with a slash cut so its flush. hits boost instally in any gear at any time. we did a couple of brake torques and blazed the tires for the nation. my sides still hurt from how bada$$ this project turned out.

tomorrow we'll have some dyno numbers, as we what to see how it is. i've never seen this car react this way and it has way more power then it ever did. best part it has 242k miles on it!!!! there is a lot i'm forgetting here, but without the minds of widom from Jim and Dan this never would have been done, and in a little of 3 hours start to finish may i ad.

some pictures
how it started

and from my camera phone

so if you ever see a white saturn with side exhaust a turbo wine and loud fuel pump, be scared it may just throw a rod at you!

hah.. love the exhaust. I've heard the diacast saturn blocks (older models) are really weak.

Time will answer that question ;D

they are not soo bad. the 00 block seems to be the best, but with an older head, because its ports are so tiny. pistons are complete crap. they dont like anything over 180 horsies. not too many people push the limits of the rods, but some have done 300 horsies on factory rods with forged pistons. headgasket is good for over 400 horse. thats about where the "big guys" in the saturn world are. the head is pretty good in stock trim, not too much out there except for full race turbo cams. and those are custom units.

btw, the saturn this post is about dynoed like 114 horse. its an all stock motor with 240K miles, and burns oil like a champ. fuel management is a 255lph in line fuel pump, and a fpr i believe. also running 94 octane. thats it, so its destined to blow in about 4 minutes. the whole build of the car was under $400 including the car itself.
