Default HMT Recipe VII: Ham chowder.

Here is a cheap and easy way to turn last night's leftover ham into tonight's ham chowder. This is a cheap and easy recipe that takes about 20 minutes prep time and a minimum of an hour cooking time.

All you need is leftover ham, some soup concentrate (creme of mushroom and creme of potato, some milk, and a white onion.

First take your leftover ham and cut it into roughly 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch cubes. And throw it in a big *** pot.

Next take your onion and finely chop it. Now would be a good time to call your woman into the kitchen and prove to her that you aren't a *****, you do cry when the time is right. Once it is chopped, throw it in the pot with the ham.

Next open up your 4 cans of soup concentrate and dump them in the pot. You MUST use creme of potato for this to turn out right. You can stop there and call it good or you can use a creme of whatever else you want for added flavor, I prefer creme of mushroom.

Next you need to dump in some milk. I use 3 cans of milk, if you like your chowder a little thicker you can use 2, if you like it a little thinner you can use 4. I wouldn't use more than 4 though.

Once you have everything dumped into the pot stir that ---- up real good and throw it on the stove on medium to high heat, keep stirring until it boils. Throw a lid on it then let it simmer (low) for at least one hour. After the hour is up go back and check on it. I usally just let it sit for about 3-4 hours.

There, when all is said and done you have a good ham chowder that was damn cheap and the recipe makes enough to feed a small army for a week.

what else you can do is buy a 8oz of velveta, a pound of curly pasta, some milk some butter and the cubed ham and make a baked mac and cheese with ham. or you could just make ham sandwhichs tomorrow for lunch instead of hittin up the roach couch>
