I just made kung pao chicken for the first time and fried rice. The rice sucked because it was cheap ---- and it was all mush. The kopo chicken wasn't bad though. Peanuts, chilis, carrots, and chicken together is win. |
Re: HMT how to: pizza on the cheap
if you do it right, homemade pizza tastes as good if not better than pizza chain pizza. buying ---- in 50lb flour sacks and 5gal oil tubs is where savings is.

Re: HMT how to: pizza on the cheap
The 5 dollar pizza's are just dough which well isnt what craves pizza urges. Solid work. I worked in a pizza joint all through high school. Homemade is pretty damn good if you know what your doing

I hate the homemade pizza that is all dough and no flavor... disgusting. Once you have the flavor & thickness of the dough correct the rest is hard to ---- up. |
Re: HMT how to: pizza on the cheap
your pizza looks pretty good but there is a papa murphys less then a block away and they have 5.99 large pepporoni pizza all day. but i always wanted to know how to make my own dough for pizza
|
Re: HMT how to: pizza on the cheap
I was looking through this forum earlier today and it occurred to me, "I haven't seen any badass recipes lately".
Good writeup. :6 |

Re: HMT how to: pizza on the cheap
I like to prebake the crusts, but that's just me. It makes them a little thicker but it also makes them firm up and not be gooey under the sauce. We have a little caesar's here that does $5 large pepperonis but they never compare to a good homemade $5 pizza. $5 is a lot of pepperoni, onions, cheese after you make a cheap crust.
I got a half pound baggie for like a buck and a half at a Mennonite farmer's market. |
Re: HMT how to: pizza on the cheap
i let the pizzas sit for a good half hour after i put the toppings on. the 'gourmet' pizza had almost 1.5" thick in the center of deliciously soft, yet slightly crunchy crust.

Re: HMT how to: pizza on the cheap
looks pretty good. I just use the breadmaker to make pizza dough though

damn beat me to it hahaha but none the less that ---- looked good |
Re: HMT how to: pizza on the cheap
Damn straight. Cooking it yourself is the only way to go. There's a little caesar's by me, and while their pizza isn't bad for 5 bucks, that ---- is nasty when cold. It's gotta be eaten hot and fresh. Plus, you can go ------- insane with the toppings. Triple cheese, onions, garlic, pepperoni, bacon, hot sausage, bell peppers, olives, whatever the ---- you want.
If you can't cook it yourself and do a halfway decent job, (you are allowed to ---- it up the first two times if you're that dumb) then damn son, that's pathetic. |
