HMT hookup on car alarms? maybe some info?

well im lookin for a new alarm, want one with the LCD desplay that tells you the status of your car (if its still there :-\). looking for some insite from other users on what is good or not...

was looking at the Viper V5000...but i cant find anyone that just sells the alarms, they all sell them with installation...LOL ---- that! im more than capable enough to install the alarm myself, and dont need anyone esle knowing the details of the installation like the back of there hand :-X i also dont need or want the remote start feature, infact i still have the remote start brain/wiring from my CRX that i never installed...

ill be more than happy with an alarm that is secure (no shady off brands) that has a couple extra inputs (power DL, trunk pop, etc), feedback LCD screen....

my cousin has thyat lcd alarm ---- he got it off ebay

codealarm was the company seems to be working for him neever asked him what he thought of it tho but its supposidly trlls u when someone is even standing next to ur car

the one feature that i liked and stuck out like a sore thumb is the range u can arm/disarm/remote start the bitch at ;D

we would be walking up to the car he would turn it on from atleast 4-5 blocks away :1

i have a bad habbit of pushing buttons on my remote start one time i had his and didnt know i was turning his car on and off that many times because i thought it was out of range :1

sry i dont have any real input on the actual alarm aspect of the alarm system :1

but yea.. ebay.. code alarm :P

Yup, that's what I've got, off ebay.

Code Alarm, their deluxe starter, security, keyless entry unit. I think it was 110 to my door.

Just be careful with Code stuff, you need their master module to install most/all of their starters/alarms.

I have 6 two-way alarms, so if you can find a master module on the cheap, I'm more than willing to throw an alarm your way.

i think thats what i cut out of my car...i had a remote and everything hooked up but it wasnt ------- programed. and i really dont know how to programe it so one time after i unhooked the battery and rehooked it, the siren went off so cut cut. and the siren is out now. the wires are still all there do you know how i would go about trying to program it or whatever? i have never really owned a alarm. but i can get a whole new one for 110 dollars?

i just got a basic Viper 350hv. no fancy remote, just a normal one.

1. Make sure it's hiden well, or even put it in a none obvious spot.
2. get a backup built in battery siren. so if they cut the wire it doesnt stop sounding.
3. even when it's installed loom up all the wiring really good so no1 can trace it.

friend has a LCD display one, tells him when his car is opened, started, hit and where it was hit, status of locks etc.. kinda cool, but maybe a little overkill.

I have the viper 790xv and I currently have a broken remote, the remotes last for about a year and then they brake and cost about 150 bucks
