Default HMT Cooks - Ive Got a Date With A Veggie Eater - What Can I Make? Enjoy.....

Landed a date with a girl Ive been talking to for a while, really only want to get together with some friends but she turned it into a personal date, and since my house will be open and free, I offerred to make a meal and then go from there. Being as Im not working, Ive got all day to make this meal and get it ready if need be.

Like the title says, I heard she was a vegetarian, never been out to eat with her, only drinks so far so Im not positive. SO Im pretty sure I have to leave ALL meats out of the question, I figured it would be nice if she just showed up for dinner expecting to ruin it throwing the vegetarian bomb, but I already had something good prepared

Thats the problem, what the ---- do vegetarians eat for diiner that would actually be appealing to a guy that loves to eat.

This is a first date, so I wanna make somethin good, show some effort, hopefully get some appreciation....

Show me how you guys would go about it

What would you make?

first, beofre cooking you need to find out what her likes are.

No meat or no meat + dairy.

To me fish is meat, but not to a veggie.

So she's a lesbian then?? Doesn't like the meat

Make some pasta. If she can eat dairy, make fettuccini alfredo. If not make a spaghetti without meat or something.

lentils
cumin (arabic spice)
arabic rice (basmati)
onions
olive oil to fry
season to taste

cut up the onions.. thin slices.. fry em just to brown em' put to side
put the basmati rice in a bowl.. wash it.. and then let it soak for a bit.. 45 minutes is good..
cook the lentils.. till theyre just about done.. add spices.. and drain the rice and dump it in.. water should be just above the rice.. low heat.. stir it.. then let it simmer till its done

dump it into plates... top it with fried onions..

best salad for it is just regular salad but only difference is you put in a ---- ton of tomatoes...

speaking of tomatoes...

fried tomatoes is nice...

cut whole tomatoes into quarters.. put a little oil in a frying pan... toss in the tomatoes.. low heat.. let it simmer.. till theyre done

also

fried okra is nice.. cut off the top and bottom.. fry... eat with pita bread...

if your interested.. i got a real nice recipie.. which doesnt take long to make but it sucks making cause you need like 5 different pots on at the same time.. one for rice one for lentils one for tomato sauce one for frying tomatoes and ----

over all i think a arabic vegitarian dish or chinease is the way to go

chinease is easy

can never go wrong with stir fry...

cabbage shredded
peppers sliced
carrots sliced
mushrooms sliced
broccoli
add sweet onions
if you wana get fancy toss in some bamboo shoots
and baby corn

you can make this with or without noodles...
you cook the noodles sepratly and toss em in at the end.. thats something alot of people ---- up and the noodles come out looking nasty...
