I like the newer Cameros. V8, RWD, plenty of room for upgrades and unlimited aftermarket support sounds good to me. :)

I have always ran 10w30 in my vehicles in the winter...5w30 in the summer.

and to be serious, on the note of a ls1 camaro, i agree with dr boost. big motor, sporty, lots of aftermarket support. cant go wrong. would I buy one, maybe.

well cobras are alittle nicer have better interiors, camaros look like ---- on the inside and there junky, mustangs allot better build quality. there about the same price used both rear wheel drive v8 american cars but the cobras supercharged you can make more power by just changing the pulley size. the cobra motors dohc insted of ohv. the cobras faster. less ---- you have to deal with if he plans on making it fast. the aftermarket is about the same for both cars. anything else? i mean my comparison wasent that extreme.

that SS camaro is about a full second faster than the pre-2003 cobras. stock...

2001 cobra is a 32v 4.6l no blower

you can get cobras pretty cheep alittle more so than the ss'es since they no longer make camaros and the 2003 cobras are the old body style now

Between the cobra and the camaro, its really whatever you like. Yes the 03/04 cobra puts out about 80 more rwhp, but you could easily make that power up with bolt ons and an aggressive cam on the camaro. 03/04 Cobra is so mod friendly and probably one of the best bang for buck cars and that goes for mods too. You have a stock cobra and throw a smaller pulley on there, intake, exhaust, and diablo chip or something, your already going mid 11's with tire. Upgrade the blower to Whipple or Kenne Bell, your looking at 10's making 600rwhp or so. Thats one route. The other route is to go with the ls1, turbo it and be making that same 600rwhp. Stay N/A, go heads/cam and a nice healthy 100-150 shot, and your right on the level of the cobra again. Personally, I couldn't choose if you put a gun to my head. I love them both equally. I was actually going to buy an ls1 before I blew my first motor. But after that happened, I couldn't sell the car anymore and was forced to keep it. Oh well

Most of that is your opinion. If we're going by price and what's faster, why is 99% of this site Honda? Why do people buy 95 Civic's with 125hp engines running high 17's out of the box? What is the fastest stock Honda? High 14's with an S2000? What does that cost? I highly doubt you can find a Cobra for the same price as a Camero, both in equal condition and both the same year with similar miles. How is it less ---- to deal with between one car and the other?

My point was someone was asking about a Camero and you asked "Why not get a Cobra?" That's like someone saying "Which one of these girls is the hottest?" and you saying "What about that guy over there?". If someone was asking what Honda to buy would you suggest a Nissan to them? ???

My buddy has a 2000 Z28. Holy ---- that thing is fast.

But let me tell you the ONE draw back to them. Installing longtube headers sucks ASS. Took us a long time, and there's not a lot of room under there.

Not only that, the Camero is like brand new with 12,000 miles compared to 34,000, a year newer, and a convertable which makes it more expensive......and faster. :-*

parts for fords are way more expensive than chevy,but i like fords better. cobras come with like 390 hp stock thats not a bad place to start from O0

I do think so. It's VERY possible. My buddy is looking for 12.4's with some Nitto 555's, long tubes, bullet mufflers and a new intake manifold. I think there's a few more parts he could bolt on to make up that .5 of a second. Very little weight reduction too. ::)
