The HKS does have a planetary gear system to raise the rpms at approx 6:1 ratio, then figure a 2:1 drive belt ratio..........
Thats 12:1 ratio and 8k rpms = 96,000 turbine rpms.
Played with one this weekend, but not a HKS. HKS uses a bigger inlet housing and impeller..........

You cant compare the hks to that garbage bkst5yu487yt posted....
I mean comon, quit being so pro-american and accept that there are better products out there made in other countries.

i haven't looked into the differences of the companies or brands. but i do know that hks kid is legit! it comes with everythign you could possibly need. it even has a t/b spacer. there is some R&D going on if they are shipping that kind of stuff with it.

from what the website says the purpose of their little s/c things is to add a little kick in the butt to an engine, so 4-5psi will probably do that.
