HKS Atmospheric BOV transformed into Recirculating BOV?
 

I saw this car on the internet, and I was wondering, did this guy take an Atmospheric BOV and turn it into a recirculating one? Based on the pictures thats what it looked like to me. Would this work. I have an HKS Atmospheric BOV and I have a MAF sensor (not a good combination) So to keep my car from stalling out while decelerating, i was thinking of giving this a shot, assuming this would work, and thats whats going on here. If so, where does the air recirculate to? On a side note, i was reading in a magazine that a company is making a BOV that can do both, and you can adjust to change how much of each you want (example: 60% Atmo 40% Recirc or 90% recirc 10% Atmo). Anyway let me know what you think!

i didnt know if maybe that part of the housing would actually hold the air or if only the diaphram was designed to make a tight seal

he didn't make it recirculated, hks sells a part that goes where that tri-fin piece is. it leaves an xtra piece of pipe to allow recirculating. check ebay... there everywhere

awesome, thanks for clearing that up for me, i think i'll have to kit up ebay for that part, because stalling out after smashing the gas kind of leaves me looking like a dipshit... more so than usual

when are you going to let me get a ride along in that thing, and whats keeping you N/A at this point? The tracks open for business now, so i think its time you make some boosted runs down the ol' 1320, i'm itching o go myself but havent made it out yet. We should get a NW group outing at one of the test and tune sessions or something.

Anyways, i think i'm just going to buy the 12 dollar piece and make this HKS thing work, goodbye woosh... so will it be completely silent now or will it still be audible but much much much quieter??

that buddy of mine who bought the 180 w/ silvia front end is recirculated SR20DET. so silent you can't even tell it's turbo when its racing
