VW bug ftw... except the motors. I hate seeing a VW bug with a 2.4L block only making 200hp... and that's about maxed out too. Put something watercooled in and you can play with it a lot more.

Yeah they do well for short drags, but anything more than that they tend to overheat bad. Of course there are a ton of exceptions, but for the average Joe making a quick car I would not go with a run of the mill aircooled 4cyl motor.
