High temp paint ?

Alright, I just got done welding up my manifold and I threw some high temp paint on it but it's chipping just from the being next to the spots I was touching up spot welding. Anyone have any good experinces with high temp spray paints or something better? I was thinking of getting the exhaust housing on my IHI ceramic coated but hell it costed more then the damn turbo itself! Do they have a ceramic spray paint or just the old high temp engine or caliper spray paint. I'm just painting it so it doesn't start rusting again and look all shitty.

We used to use John Deer Muffler Black paint from the local farm supplier store on our ported HF manifolds. Not one complaint from any of our customers.

hah hah I told myself what to do! I was testing out my old account(EGizzle6) to see how many post I had on it cause I was locked out of it for awhile. I called "Swain Coatings" cause they do ceramic coating and I just saw them flipping through the new Grassroots magazine and called them and quoted me at 75-100. Damn I only paid 25 for the turbo! It's only a little IHI VF so maybe I'll just stick painting and wrapping the manifold with some leftover header wrap I have. Has anyone ever got there exhaust housings painted or coated? Did help out any or is it worth it?

I just picked up the plasti-cote ---- that good up to 1500 degree so well see how long that last. Hell if your engine bay gets up that high then I think you've got some problem cause then your wiring harness and ---- would start melting catching on fire. I'm thinking of just painting the manifold and wrapping it with some header wrap. Now for the exhaust housing I'm not sure what to do about it. I just got it bead blasted and it'll just go back to being all rusty if I don't do anything. ???

Good luck getting your basic ---- from the auto parts store to stick. Best bet is to sandblast that ---- down and get it ceramic coated.

That's a good call on the deere muffler paint Craig, I'm gonna try that next time.
