high steady idle after a few rapings?

So i felt like raping my car a few times on my way home. total of 3, 1 topping out 2nd, 1 middle of 3rd, and 1 topping 3rd, in that order. once I got about a block away from home, i came to a stop sign, and i noticed something wasn't right. my car was idling way up at 2k. im like wtf and continue home. it drives fine, no stuttering or dieing.. its just once i put the clutch in, it goes straight to 2k. it turns off and on just fine.

i checked for vacuum leaks, any leaking oil or coolant, anything out of the ordinary.. nothing. the check engine light does not turn on, but i haven't checked for codes. my sister's bf who doesn't know too much about honda's (but does know some things) said to try "plugging that hole in the bottom off the intake.. err the throttle body yea and see if that settles it down".. idle control port/hole or something? i have no idea wtf happened.

i just hope nothing is broken :-X

OBD-1 B18C1, N/A

Cliffs: car has steady idle @ 2k. no leaking of oil, coolant, or vacuum leaks. haven't checked for codes but check enging light aint on.

Very common for for the fitv to back out. Plug the hole leading to it in the TB when its running and see if the idle drops.

Sometimes my throttle cable sticks if I floor it a lot...

When the IROC Z was popular my buddy let me drive his spanking new convertible and after mashing the pedal it wouldnt come back up! I nearly had a baby. I was holding the brake down on instinct with two feet. After it released quickly after, we noticed the car mats were the culprit. :S

lol..

i had the floor mats cause my gas pedal to stick before..

but this one other time i had frost build up in the throttle body cause it was wet from when i degreased the engine the day before.. :l

so the tb with the gunk build up and frost caused my tb butterfly to stick at near wot :-\

that was a bad day.. i turned it off not knowing if it would ---- anything up.. luckilly it didnt..

i think something is funky with my fitv.. started her up this morning and idled like nothing. drove out of the backyard- idle went to 2k. drove to the end of the alley- idle up to 2.3k. drove to the end of the block- 3k. i figured something was up and not good.. so i popped the hood, looked to see if my throttle was stuck or something cuz i was able to slip into 1st gear from a stop like normal driving without even pressing down on the gas..

gave a quick jerk on the throttle by hand, and the idle flew down to normal cold idle.. i was like wtf. gave me no problems at all today

It happens when I screw with the cable and forget to tighten it all the way or it gets hung up on the bracket or something, the car will start idling at like 1.5K and then I can either fix it or pull the pedal back with my foot which I usually do because I'm lazy. :8

exactly what i was gonna say. Sometimes i just pull the gas pedal up a little with my foot and that'll drop my idle bout 400 rpms
