Grr, I didn't realize you posted that >:(

There's one in Blairsville, near Pittsburgh. Excellent school, I've heard nothing but good things about it.

Which is the best reason to go to school there, right? :P

Not everything on the east is specialty schools.. there's quite a few that are in collision, engine rebuilding, etc..

I just signed up for wyo tech tonite....
https://www.homemadeturbo.com/forum/...threadid=25345

They do have a campus in Blairsville, PA. But if you wanted to go into the high performance field, you would have to take there auto mechicanics (sp?) then take an add on class of high performance. the person who talked to me said the auto mech. class is a complete over view of everything automotive, from brakes, to HVAC, to electrical. everything. nothing specialized though, they give you a basic overview of everything. then you could take an add-on class of the high performance. they have a 98% placement rating right now, which bacially means, if you graduate and cant find a job, you dont want a job.

I also looked at UTI in Ohio, they have a 100% high performance school, but the placement rating is only like 60-something percent. Not a big demand for only performance minded mech.

something to think about...

Re:high performance engine building schools

Actually theres not a campus in Ohio the nearest one would be Illinois. I'm just hoping that UTI won't suck I mean ---- school everyday and ----! oh well atleast i'll be done in less than 2 years. And yeah free dyno time, track day, use of equipment on weekends and major companies are always there hiring new people and $1500 dollars worth of snap-on tools at a discount baby!

Re:high performance engine building schools

here are there locations...
http://www.uti-auto-tech.com/locations.asp

and I think anywhere you go you can get tools at dealer cost. I know at WYO TECH, you are givin a snap-on starter set upon graduation, worth like 4grand, so bacially a few screw drivers, wrenches, and a tool box. but then you can spend up to $10,000 more dollars at dealer cost to buy more tools. and wyo tech also has dyno days and track days.

if you choose a school from the discounts and track and dyno days, you are a ------ idiot. ::)

see the thing I looked at was I didnt wanna be specialized in one area. i didnt wanna just train for ford, or GM, or Chrysler, because then your limited. I think that is something alot of people should look at.

Yeah man obviously anyone who goes to school for tools and track days is a ------- idiot i was just mentioning a few bonuses that came with going to UTI thats all. I also looked into the community college route but it just didn't seem as good :P
