Hi, new member here...

Hello,

I just wanted to say hello to everyone here at HMT! I just recently found out about this site, and its great! :)

My car is a 1998 Honda Accord (4cyl), and I want to start boosting. However I cant afford those turbo kits because its very expensive (around 3000-4000 dollars). So I decided to buy turbo parts and put a kit together.

This is what I have so far:
-TD05 Turbo (no wastegate)
-Vortech FMU
-Airtex inline Fuel Pump
-1gen DSM bov

Thats it..I know I still need a manifold, intercooler, wastegate and the pipes and little things..

I was wondering what are the majority of the members cars here? anyone else have a 6th gen accord here?

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to post here... ;D

Thanks...I have been trying to build it, but its just expensive, cannot find a manifold or a wastegate for a good price..

I have two turbo's that I want to get rid of...can I post here or should I post it at the classified forum?

welcome, get rid of the FMU and that turbo you have is too small for an F-series motor. we're here to help

hondaboi 03-07-2004 02:55 AM

Re:Hi, new member here...

My plans is to run at around 5psi (7psi max) only, and I want to start boosting at around 2500rpm so there is less lag.

So what type of turbo is nice? is there an disadvantage of using that fmu? should I go for a apex fuel/air controller?

any inputs would be nice..thanks!

45psi 03-07-2004 03:53 AM

Re:Hi, new member here...

the idea of 5lbs is a nice one... but boost is addictive. i suggest a .60 trim t3(less lag) if not a super60. the fmu is cumbersome and awkward for something that needs finess. try talking to TurboEF9 in the Engine Managment forum. The apexi -afc is much better than an fmu anyday.

Re:Hi, new member here...

AHHH!!! :o are you serious????

I dont even have the money to buy a manifold and a wastegate...that is what I need left! the others I pretty much have. I have two turbo sitting in my garage, that I want to get rid off...Its good condition, but I have no use for it, cuz I got a TD05 instead!

anybody wanna buy? hehehe..or trade..

Re:Hi, new member here...

Welcome, check out more info on I think it was 1st gen Dsm turbo manifold, there were some posts a long time ago about being able to fit them to F-series engines. Not sure of the details but it might work for you. It'll be cheaper than making a custom one.

oh yes and you can say ----, ----, cock, ass, bitch, and all the fun stuff here, no need for these @#$%^&*(

hondaboi 03-12-2004 02:38 PM

Re:Hi, new member here...

hello,

Yeah, I have done a bit of research for that DSM manifold. The DSM ones will only fit 3rd or 4th gen accords with different F series engine. Mine is a F23A1, and I have checked and its either getting a custom or buying one from retail stores. I do have similar ports for F22B1 OR B2 I think. That came in a 5th gen accord. But there were two types of 5th gen accords with two different engines.

OH btw, if your running Twin turbo, do you need two wastegate? or just one? And might I say that whitey's twin turbo is craaazyy! wow... :o
