HF Manifold
is there a good way tp paint an HF manifold and get rid of the rust and just clean it up a bit? Mine looks like ----. i know its an hf but i would like it black or something

Re: HF Manifold
use those 1000 degree (or whatever degree it is) high temp paint. but I think it will still burn off if it gets red hot.
It will eventually look like ---- anyway, just leave it alone |
Re: HF Manifold
1200 Degree paint and/or a heat shield would take care of the looks. I did the paint with mine, it lasted a few months, but it will eventually go back to look like ----, unless you can get it coated.

Re: HF Manifold
I painted mine too.
Smelled awful when the paint burned off. Now it had black and rust colored stripes. :3 |
Re: HF Manifold
I sandblasted mine including thehes shield and then wiped it down with a acetone/tumbler and painted it VHT 1500 deg f cast iron grey.It looked brand new and help up fine for the few months i was using it.

My brother just did this to his manifold. It came out looking pretty decent |
Re: HF Manifold
just make a heat shield. I was fortunate enough to snag my hf mani w/ the stock shield... which was in good condition. I get compliments on the heat shield for some reason. :P

Re: HF Manifold
Go to a place that sells wood stoves. I bought some spray paint from them that has been on my manifold for 2 years and still looks good. ;D

Re: HF Manifold
I agree on the heat shield [painted or new] really adds a nice clean look to the whole setup.
