I have a set of the Sparco slider style hood pins, and they make me nervous. I almost had the hood fly open on me not too long ago following behind a tractor trailer. The wind sheer coming off the back of the truck was so bad it was pressing down on my hood, and every time it pressed down I'd watch the pins slowly work themselves open. I think If I ever use a hood pin again I'm going to get the old muscle car style ones with the cotter pin that goes through it. :P

you can't expect a hood pin to replace your factory latch, its only made to support in conjunction with the oem ltach, and the reason why you have that problem is your adjustment, you have to adjust them to be tight as possible.

I had one for several years. Never installed any hood pins. Never had any problems. This was driving 80+ mph to and from work daily. Not to mention SEVERAL late night interstate pulls at 120+mph.

I went with them because I was worried, I had a stock hood flew open before. now I have carbon. beleive it took a lot of thinking and debating if I should use them.

I this that rubber bushing is a great idea I will install some for added support tomarow.

These work well, but must be mounted in a flat area of the body /hood panel. The black part is nothing more than ABS plastic, and some folks have experienced breakage with them. When mounted correctly, they work just fine. The Hondata Bonneville car uses them, and they worked fine up to 190MPH.

I never had any problems with the Sparco units and their still pretty cheap for being name brand. I had some locking ones with the cylinder type key and they were a nightmare to install. If the ---- ain't flat... is what you'll be trying to get them to line up right latch good. I installed some on my wifes old Focus that had a carbon fiber hood and watching it flex while on the highway always made me kinda sketchy on it flipping up. I'm gonna be looking for some for the Z since I had to remove the stock latch mount to fit the 4G as close to the firewall as possible and the latch cable snapped already so why now.
