hey nignogs (sinistercrx here) PS2 question

On my cousins account btw...

All right nignogs, got a question for ya.

Never had to try to do this before, but my cousins are trying to connect their PS2 to the internet, and the hell if I know how (running GameShark). How do I connect via a cable internet connection? The modem is showing activity but the Gameshark program is saying it cannot located the DHCP server.

:-\

Well, since it can't locate that, I'm guessing you don't have DHCP enabled, or it's a bad cable. Are you sure the cable is made right? I thought you were into computers, but anyways make sure its not a crossover cable... Does he have it run through a hub/router? If so make sure the ports enabled and if you can login to the hub/router check to see if DHCP is enabled.. You may need to go into the PS2 and put in an ip address and all that stuff... probably not helpful to ya, but ah well

I am a computer guy, I just dont understand much of networking ----. DHCP was enabled, and its a brand new cable that Vince bought from staples (straight through, not crossover) Its not running through anything, its connected directly into the cable modem. We stuck the IP address and such in and it just wont work.
