Yea, they can be tempramental on something, but dude I beat the ---- out of mine and it is still going strong. The only thing that I could not stop breaking was the ball cups, that was after i put the awd set up on it. I fixed that problem by buying aluminum replacements. There are a ton of aluminum parts for those things. Oh yea, I modified the steering to, I added reistors inline on the servo wires and doubled it turning capabilities. Like I said, we have fun with them, but to each there own.

I've got one and yes, they are pretty fun when you race and drift with a group of buddies. I also have 1/10 scale offroad elec truck and and an Nitro RS4 as well. i used to race the rs4 on oval with a 2 speed tranny. We were clocked on average of 60-65mph (yes REAL mph). I dig the Xmod now though as like mentioned you don't need a ton of room to have fun. The money and upgrades can get outrageous and theres one guy localy that has an ubermodded Xmod hitting almost 50mph. He runs out of room and range by the time it gets that fast. 6 cells and some giant motor with "turbo" fets installed. They also make alloy and carbon fiber parts for these bitches pretty cool. Vegas is holding a national event with a $10,000 grand prize. They are starting to catch on finally. We run every sunday in a parking lot with the official Xmod tracks. I think the guy spent almost a grand in foam tracking yikes!

Not sure wtf they have to do with HMT as they are electric, but my little Civic coupe will have a tiny plastic painted intercooler on it soon :)

Not that it matters but so far I have done...
Stage 2 motor upgrade
Tires
AWD
Bearings
Alloy front and rear knuckles
Carbon fiber front and rear deck
Springs

Next week I plan on upping the power as the stage 2 motors suck after going AWD :( Time for TURBO fets and new cells to up the juice to 7.4v :)

I have the stage 2 motors, head/tail lights, bearing upgrade, steering upgrade, awd upgrade, alloy ball cups f&r and I wanted the dogbones but they are sold out till sometime this month. Like I said, we run indoors on a track that cost about $30 (if that) worth of materials to make. This is a pick of it outside right after we finished cutting and piecing it together, once we brought it in, we put velcro on the bottom in certain area's so it gripped the carpet real nice. Like I said, bust out some drinks, cranks up the music and bash away, lol ;)

That would be like somebody saying, I can't believe you spend money on your car, can't you find something better to do with the cash? ::) It's a hobby. I am not big on going out to clubs and I really don't drink all that much (mainly when I race the Xmods, lol)so it's not like I waste a lot of money on that kind of ----. I think I have $130-$150 into it over past year. No big deal.

lol!
That looks like an old Tamiya Balck Foot. Those things rocked ;)

it's a nikko Scorpion. The Tamiya Blackfoots are worth some money.

That smartech gas r/c biggmike linked doesn't look bad for the money, but a better r/c can be put together with a tad bit more money.

Why do I say the smartech isn't that great? Mainly cause if you need parts you will most likely have to order them online, unless your local hobby shop carries them, I know mine don't. I'd stray away from it, but too be honest, for the price it is tempting.

Oh and don't forget to add
-20 for gas
-25 for ignitor
-10 for batteries

I've been thinking about getting some of those x mods. But then again, I have been looking at the HPI micros lately. Just seems like more potential, but then again it would cost a whole lot more. I had a Kyosho Mini Z back in the day, that was fun, maybe I will just pick up an xmod and see what it could do.

Well Murdoc, if your serious about seeing what they can do, check out www.atomicmods.com they have some pretty sick upgrades but at a price of course. But on an entertaining note, go to the video section and watch the video "house jump" or something like that, pretty ------- crazy for an RC car :o

better yet, here is the link

damn, that house jump was ------ sick! :o

That buggy reminds me of an Ofna Hyper 7, but none the less sick.

I have a Ofna Worlds buggy in the garage, just have been lagging on getting it running :-X

Too many damn r/c cars.
