Default Here's a question for you road course guys...

I've been playing around with my suspension a little bit lately, and I want to get a little better handling for some upcoming solo2 events. 89 hatchback with plenty of go power for these course types so that's no issue, what is an issue is my understeer. I swapped out Integra front and rear sway bars to compliment my tokico 5 way's and skunk2 c/o's. I have them set around 2 in the front and 1 in the rear to help induce a little more body roll in a corner and it helped out my understeer a little bit but not enough to make me happy. I would go back to the stock Si front bar, but it was just too sloppy for my liking going through a corner...I had to jack up the shock pressure just to keep it somewhat steady through the corners which in turn makes it hop around. I've heard wheel spacing can help alot on understeer, should I look into this? I've got a 38.12 sec 1/2 mile time to beat this year, and the guy who keeps besting me in the same platform is running a 36 second time, but he won't give up his suspension secrets. :P

Thanks Chris. I run a Hoosier tire for road courses on an old set of BBS's, so tires aren't really my issue.

Alignment is set 0* toe in rear, .25* toe in front with a -1* camber setting in the front and -.5* in the rear. Tire pressure depends on the weather and the course, but an average of 28psi seems to do pretty well.

more tire pressure in the rear to help them break loose a bit and a bit of toe out in the rear helps too.

i think the front sway bar might be hurting you, have you done bushings or strut/tie bars to help with the the sloppy feeling? using an HF front sway or no sway at all seems to be a popular setup with ef/crx auto x'ers. i'd definitely go check out honda-tech, they've got a fairly active road/autox forum over there.

I hate to say but all the info people talk about on ht was created on hybrids.jp. Anything and everything is there. Hell hybrid use to have a track day at buttonwillow once a year for all the members
