I spy a OBD0 resistor box. :P Cool rolla but some nice older SSR MK1-3's would be better then the Weld's drag setup. I'm not into the drag ----.

make me miss my '75 rolla sport coupe w/ 2tc 5-spd.
The cars had forge rods, cranks, and pistons back then.

Damn frame broke crappy steel back then.

Who told you this :6 But h-beams and forged pistons are cheap for them.

G54b's are a tank of a motor, just tank all the mitsu stuff off and you are good to go.

Toyota, Haynes, and Chilton repair manuels all say so.
When I replace the rod bearing in mine I noticed a thick forge line on the crank.

Yeah I'm using info from some old SBC interchange and in the book it explains about how to find if you have a forge crank. But now that I work at a foundry and learning correct foundry terms. It be the flash on the crank that you look for.

Clean car and solid build. Old man I know has an 81 corolla fully restored. It's red and HOTT. But not turbo.

Cranks are forged, rods maybe, but still to weak to handle anything decent, pistons are cast. I have a few sets of the stock rods and pistons in the floor that need to be broke down for the recycle guy.

No, i bought this as a non-running project.I put the updated non-jet valve head on and finished the radiator and put in the intercooler. It came with a microtech but i never was able to get it to make a good pass. I would get it running good at the shop but when i went to the track it would pop and fart the 2nd 1/2 of the track. After a year i gave up on the microtech and put in MS.I took it to the 100' drags and it ran well but it has yet to make a 1/4 mile run. When i took it to lebanon valley last fall it ran a 15.34(or something like that)so anything will be good.
I saw a video of a 81 from PR that made me want one. If i find the video i will post it.
Mark

4age is a 1.6l dohc engine from the mr2/corolla late 80's. Weak headgasket, other than that a great motor. Google Formula Atlantic.

Ahh the 4age. My 2nd car was a minty fresh FX16 that I bought for $200. It was sitting out front of this Fag's house with a price tag of $400. I had $216 in my wallet and he accepted that lol. The motor was gone, but I found a good one for $250. I built it a little bit and drove it like that for a few years. I drove that thing like a hooligan too. Redline at almost every shift and all around brutal to it. It held of fine. I then got a 20V head for cheap, had it remanned, and it really made the car scream for what it was. I ended up selling it to this old guy who offered me way too much for it, so I couldn't pass it up. If it was RWD I'd have kept it forever.

I love the little 4AGE though. Before the B16 there was the 4AGE. I always wanted the supercharged variant, but then started playing with boosted Swedish cars and finally DSM's. I'd love to do another Corolla, but RWD this time. My next project is gonna be an Eagle Summit wagon, but eventually I'll get a sweet old Corolla.
