so are you sugesting people drop 100 grand on a car based on preformance alone because i dont nessicairly agree with that being the case. the ford gt is very much so a status oriented vehicle. and it doesnt realy compare to a z06 its a completly diffrent layout. and if you did want to compare it to the c6 z06 compare it to the shelby model fords supposed to be coming out with thats in the range of 700-750hp.

The GT 350 or GT 500 nomenclature never really had a real meaning behind them. Neither of the original versions had motors that were relevant to that number either size or power. It just so happen to be the numbers that Shelby and Ford agreed upon. This car is probably way underated. It has beens Fords practice to do this since 99 when they had such a problem with the Cobra. The 03-04 Cobra's (rated at 390, really more like 425 cause most lay 370-380 to the rear tires), the new Ford GT (rated at 550, began life being rated at 500 but after a chassis dyno run at Pauls High Performance they found that it was putting 550 to the rear tires). Even the new Mustang GT seems to be underated a little some say the real numbers are more like 315-320. but it is always better to underate a car rather than deal with angry people that dyno their cars in a dead air box in 120F weather.
