HELP! snapped oil fitting in block!

:'( :'(
help, i had a small oil leak comming fron the oil fitting and so i decided to tighten it, but as i was tighten it i guess i tighted it too much and it snapped right off. I can't believe i was so careless. I tried to get a screw extractor kit and hand twist it off but i can't seem to do it, maybe i'm not strong enough......ionno but it seems pretty stuck in there.

has this ever happened to anyone? any tips, advice? thanks

if the problem is what i'm thinking of, i had the same issue w/ a turbo i bought. you can take an allen wrench socket that is a little bit bigger than the inside of the hole, and hammer the socket into it and just unscrew it. might not work out too well though since it's in a tight space, but it's worth a try. hope that made sense

Re:HELP! snapped oil fitting in block!

Sorry i don't have a camera, so can't really get any pictures of it

I can't really get any leverage to twist the stupid lil handtool screw extractor kit thing i got from pepboys, so i don't think that allen wrench idea will be any different, thanks though

Anyone have any more advice? :'( i need to go to school tomorrow. Thanks

Go back to pepboys and get an intake gaskets set and remove the intake so you can get at it. As I remember you should have plenty of room from underneath if you remove the oil filter.

you can hold them with a tap wrench or what ever you can hold it with. Try and tap it in first.

Re:HELP! snapped oil fitting in block!

same exact thing happened to me. i got some extractor bits from home depot, hammered it into the hole and used a small wrench over the back of the extractor bit(turning counterclockwise). it came out no probs and saved my ass
