Default help plz

hey i know this may be a stupid question but i need an answer plz. if my g/f car is starting fine but when i take the positive battery cable off when its running, and it dies does that mean the alterator is bad? sorry if i miss spelled stuff i suck at spelling.

That's an old carbureted car trick... doing that to a fuel injected car can fry sensitive electronic components. And, sometimes the car dies, sometimes it doesn't with the EFI cars.


A voltmeter is $10 at Radioslack, why don't you see if the alternator is putting out 13-14.5 volts like everyone else does?

and if it puts out more like 18ish then your regulators bad.

If its putting out 18v, let it run for awhile and then spark a flame above the battery, lol
