Help needed to steal my own bike.

My housemate borrowed my push bike. Since i wasn't there to give him my keys he used his own bike lock. The bike lock he used has now given up the idea of opening, leaving my bike about 1-2 miles away.

The lock is a D-Lock or U-Lock whatever.

kinda like that ^^^

I have access to your average tool collection.

I have no access to power near the bike, but do have a cordless drill (which i know will be useless, the lock barrel is hardened).

The bike is secured to a railing which i could probably smash, but i don't want to damage anything if possible.

Any suggestions for quick ways to bust open that lock? My instincts tell me that a scissor jack will do the job.

youse a bic pen, hollow it out, warm it a bit with a lighter then press it in the lock, cool it then turn.

or the fast old easy way is buy a big can of buitain. spray it upside down on the head(the whole can) then smash down the lock with a hammer

I know what your talking about, but this isn't one of those round keys with a hollow centre. Its a long key kinda like a car key i guess. So trying to smash the tumblers won't work.

just break the railing or whatever its attached to, take it home and get the lock off there

Use a piece of piping and slide it over the straight piece of tubing where the key goes. Make sure The inside diameter of piping is really close to the outside diameter of the bike lock. Then just reef on it.

Scissor jack idea may work pretty good

WTF is a push bike? ???

I would just bring a BFH. You can do anything with a BFH.

bolt cutters, or find a truck with a power outlet and use an angle grinder.

A bicycle, bike, whatever. I'm going to try it with a scissor jack. Its a cheap lock. The po-po suggested bolt croppers. I have found a cordless angle grinder online which might work in desperation.
