if you dont want to read my introduction please skip to the third paragraph if you know anything about lexan window installation.

well, for the past two weeks some shitbags have been trying to steal my crx. i know of at least four times for sure in the past two weeks that my car for sure has been fucked with.i dont know why, ive tried hard to keep my ---- looking as stock as possible, but whatever. anyways, these people have ripped off the window molding, fucked up my door where the window goes, and have popped my window off of the track so now anyone can reach in and unlock it. i cant put it back on the track, because like i said, they bent up my door around where the window goes. the only thing that scared them away is that i have an alarm, and im guessing they ran away when it goes off. anyways, i believe that it is only a matter of time before my car is stolen or they end up taking ---- from inside. i asked my local police what would happen if i waited in the passenger seat with a shotgun(i have limo tint all around so they wouldnt see me waiting inside), and they said that if i ended up shooting them, i would go to jail.

the only solution i can think of is to remove my glass windows and put lexan in place of it, as well as shaving my door handles and putting poppers on it. i dont need help with the door handles, my buddy can help me with that. i do, however, need any advice that you guys can give me on how to install the lexan. i am going to be staying at my girlfriends(good neighborhood) for the next few weeks until i can finish the install.

what i hear that i need to get is 1/4" lexan, waterproof sealer, a rivet gun w/rivets, and drill holes in the metal around my door. i have never done this before, so it would be great if you guys could give me some advice. basically a detailed howto if possible. i would be eternally grateful if you guys could help me out. and please, dont put bullshit comments like "move out of the hood". im really stressing out about my car getting stolen. i have an alarm, and multiple killswitches for fuel and ignition, but i still would like to try and keep these shitbags out of my precious ride. by the way, the reason i have limo tint is because it gets extremely hot here in the summer and the tint helps to keep the sun/heat out, and also to prevent potential theives from looking inside of my car.

i will say it one more time, i am really desparite and need help... so if you know how to do this please help me out. this is my only alternative besides waiting inside my car with a shotgun and going to jail.

well from my past past past history experiences i know theives look for cars with tinted windows. it doesnt stop them from looking in, it makes them want to find out what your hiding. after getting my accord stolen and broken into several times(i really live in the ghetto) i just dont leave anything inside thats valuable and i put several kill switches.if u make it harder fro them to getin, their just going to damage your car more when they get in it. the last time they got in my car tehy just broke the window and didnt get ----.its weird, i dont even get upset anymore, but if i catch them ill just calmly get blow them away.

I can understand going the lexan window route, I played with some lexan today at home depot, was trying to break it for fun.

Do you have a car alarm? Get one that has a nice big blinky red light, might try and detour the thieves. Get a bulldog and tie it up to your car at night too.. I'm sure there are easier solutions then what you are about to go thru.

my alarm has a blingin red light that you can see through the tint if you are within a couple of feet, but not so blingin that you can see it thirty feet away.

also, if nobody wants to hook me up with a howto,

1. how many/what size rivets would you guys suggest? remember, i dont care about weight savings, im just trying to stop theives.
2. what size drill bit would you suggest to drill the door?
3.where exactly should i drill at in the door?
4. what is the best way to cut the lexan?
5. does lexan go by any other name? - im going to try and see if home depot has it, lowes didn't have it.
6. feel free to add anything helpful.

also, im going to get a car cover, the kind that you can lock. its not much, but hopefully it might help to deter theives.

I think a car cover would just bring more attention. you should really think about moving the hell out of that area, I know you said you didn't want to hear that, but honestly how happy are you there? If you get the rivit gun and rivits it will tell you what size drill bit to use, and when you find a place that has lexan or whatever generic name it might have ask them how to cut it and how far to space your rivits. good luck.

I really wouldn't do lexan windows on your car. Alot of people do lexan on the back half because it's easier to install, but the doors would be a bitch. Plus, you'd probably forever ---- your doors out of having glass in them again.
I would think that the windows in the doors would be easier to make permanently stay up somehow instead of doing lexan. Plus, you have tint on the car, so it's not going to be as easy as breaking the window and running. The tint is going to hold the glass together to some degree.
And the shaved door handles probably won't do much either. I think most of the time either the window is broken, or it's pushed back and "slim jim'd".
Now to think about possible solutions? Maybe put a backup battery on your alarm, turn the sensativity up (pm me if you need help) and/or put more sirens on the alarm. One is loud, but three will definately make those ******* think twice about coming back.
