It doesn't take long. From the time this post was made to now it could be halfway through formatting the hard drive in NTFS

How vulnerable is my information on the computer? Like saved passwords, personal information, etc...

It could have just been a program that got downloaded that popped up that window, not necessarily an actual person. But yes, I would change your more important passwords. Try booting in safemode...
