Help with converting a video file to dvd

Could someone convert a avi file I have and put it on a dvd? I'll send you a lil cash for the disk and your time. I just don't have DVD burner on my ancient pc.

lol you have a 100ghz PC or somrthing?

encoding a AVI (divx) to a Good quality DVD takes a few hours on my 3.0ghz

download Nero 7, use the key buk posted a few weeks ago. Load up Nero Vision and have at it. That program does really nice quality. takes about 1.5hrs to convert 2x350meg tv shows into VOB files for DVD burning.

after its converted (make sure it's set to Write to Folder) open nero burning rom and have at it.

oh, go buy a dvd burner, theyre like 40 bux if you shop around. (not bestbuy etc.)

here you go, best dvd burner currently available in retail channels.

but if you are just doing avi file use avi2dvd. its pretty simple and you can get it for free.
go here http://www.afterdawn.com/software/vi...ls/avi2dvd.cfm
do a little reading on that site too. its the ---- for just about anything A/V related.

i tried that AVI2dvd thing and it comes out looking likt complete poop.

Nero vision is one of the best for encoding quality, just make sure to set it to 2-pass VBR - High Quality

which encoder did you use?
all of mine came out great, w/dolby dig
but i allways used the one that took the longest.
i have nero vision also, but i only use that if i want to put tv shows on a dvd.
but i don't ---- with it anymore cause i got a dvd player that plays almost every video file, except hd xvid.

we may be thinking of a diff prog, because the one im thinking of doesnt let you choose the encoder.

possibly, because the one that i used have 4 to choose from, with different options. one of them you could choose had a 4-pass option. that would take like a day to do.

you know anyone with a mac? my friend has one and he says it only take like 15min to fully convert an avi file to dvd? wtf?
he said they're made different so it can do that.
i had a mac way back when, and it was a total POS.

A good mpeg2 encoder application will encode in less than half the play time on a decent PC...

I prefer this program http://www.freebyte.com/hjsplit/ then just go split your vid into multiple parts and go to https://www.yousendit.com/ they have a 2 gig upload limit then send the links of the split vid to the person on the receiving end they can uses this http://www.freebyte.com/hjsplit/#hjjoin to join the splits back together just make sure you copy and paste all the links into a text document for the person to download all the parts join them and then make you DVD.

Jon live like 2 hours from me so I'll just toss it in the mail and he'll have it the next day. I'll just have to see what Jon's dvd making capabilities are like when I get the video back. Once I get the Z boosted. You want to help me tune it?

Re: Help with converting a video file to dvd

What do you mean my dvd making capabilities? I can do anything! I was just gonna put it straight to dvd and add some chapters so you can skip around it but let me know if you want anything else. Hell yea I'll help tune the Z

Sorry for quoting myself but hjslipt has good thing about it you can take a large video file and split it up into smaller pieces to make it easier to edit w/ vid editing software like InterVideo WinDVD Creator, Windows Movie Maker 2, and Ulead products.

Sorry if I insulted you in any way shape or form. I just didn't know you were such a master of things. Making incredible downpipes, dvd making, getting chicks to drop and do whatever you want at the drop of a hat. You sir deserve you MOD status. :y This is me bowing down to you oh great one who drives a seafoam 4dr. I'll get that in the mail today so you should see it tuesday. Once I get my one last strut and spring and the rest of the remaining bushings installed I will start on the manifold and everything else. I'll PM you the details of everything else.
