k, well my compter has been being slow, and just gay. i just assumed its cuz its old. amybe not?

i turned it on this morning and windows opens slow like normal, click on firefox to see the HMT happenings, nothin pops up, min later it errors out or something and closes windows to prtect its self.

now everytime i try and open windows/turn laptop on it comes up blue screen: STOP: c000021a {fatal system error} etc.

it does it stanard, safemode, and in last known good...

so, yeah its fucked...?

ill probably just go buy a new PC, but i would like to get all my files off it intact. anyone help with that?

i dont know where my windows disc is.

oh yeah running xp home, dell inspiron 600m.... posting from my G1/phone.

See if maybe you can replace the boot sector. Its typically on the computer cd for your laptop..

Ninja... I see you dont have your computer disk.. You can download winxp from torrents and use that. You don't have another computer?? Damn I see how I make money now

i dont know where the disc is, i have moved a couple times since i bought the compter. and i just moved, didnt see the little ---- when packing.

only computer. but i might go to best buy in a bit and buy a new one. BUT i want to save the files on my laptop, plus i can still use it for tuning (that i never do) and moblie dvd player lol.

You need to get yourself a http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16812339011 connector for that beyotch. Mines I sent you in the link is made for multiple drives so it dont matter if your laptop drive is ide or sata. Its probably a few screws to take out the drive. From there you connect it to the plug and the other end is a USB for a "normal" working computer to now access the info on the drive. From there you can choose to take entire folders, or just bits and pieces.

Oh ok then after you backup EVERYTHING you need, then just throw the drive back in.. Have a winxp disk ready (thats been completely scanned for viruses) and just reformat the laptop from there.

Fresh, clean install.. After that you must go to the manufacture of your laptop, and look up the model number. Then you can get any drivers that are needed. This part is a must, don't think you can skip it. Your computer will run like ---- if you don't.

And done.. new laptop from a old laptop. You might as well BUILD yourself something.. Its not that hard and you will save a ton as well as get a better bang for the buck.

1 - backup your files
2 - fresh install of windows
3 - go to a working pc, download all the drivers needed for your model pc, put on cd/flash drive
4 - install drivers

Format will erase your virus.

I can save all your ---- onto my external, format your drive into 2 partitions (one for windows and one for storage), reload windows for you, and put all your ---- back onto the storage partition. (You can later burn it on flash drives/external drive/dvds)

XP pro sp2/sp3 or any versrion vista.
