Help, caliper compression (no C clamp)
whats a failsafe way to compress brake calipers? the pistons i mean. i gotta throw in a new set of pads before school tomorrow and i cant get em on without compressing the pistons. if it helps its on an 88crx hf. and btw, i dont have a C-clamp, help!! i feel like a noob!!

go buy a clamp.....only way ive ever done it...maybe try prying it back with a wrench or something

its better with a big pair of plyers.. c clamp takes to long and u can never get it on there straight.. :)

clamp works great....just put a wrench across the piston

i just helped a friend do his accord without clamps. he opened the bleeder and after playing with it for a while i was able to get em in. just made sure to bleed the air out and refill what spilled.

no easier with big plyers!! u dont have to turn the it in just stick them on there and squeeze!! :)

yeah, pliars/vice grips aren't bad. i was referring to bleeding out the fluid and prying it, SUCKS ASS ;D

I just squeeze with my hands and they will go in. It is slower than a clamp, but it works too.
