Heat wrap???? Smells like burnt popcorn!!!
 

ok so i bought some heatwrap on E-bay for like 30$ this ---- was like 100ft 2in wide... anyways... i wraped my manifold, and my downpipe... and i start the car and went for a drive... after i went around the block that ---- started smelling like burnt popcorn and smoking like it too.... and im itchy like a ----------er..... WTF.... is it supposed to smell like that???? And what do i do to get rid of the itchyness...

You can wrap your dick up with that ---- if you want to. The stink will be there for about 40 heating cycles then it will slowly go away.

that ---- is emberrasing.... i was driving to my bro's house and people at the lights kept telling me my car smelt like burnt stuff and it was smoking... my response. was like... "its alright it always does that"

and damn,.. i took a shower and im still itchy.....

---- dont tell me about fiberglass.. when me and beau made that homemade 1pc front end that ---- was everywhere.. in my bed on my couch. God I'm glad that ---- is gone, I hate fiberglass.

there is definately fiberglass or silica fibers. I originally thought asbestos but probably not... Just take a COLD shower and try to scrub it off. From what I've learned from insulating some homes back in the day is NOT to take a warm shower, your pores will just open up more and the fibers will just go in more...

The itchiness will disappear.

Hey put the link to the header wrap up so I can see what kind it is. I got some Thermotec but it was like 15ft for like 15 bux...

I bought it on ebay... this dude was selling it cause he got his headers ceramic coated instead....

but when i got it in the mail.. i checked the manufacturers site.. and found the i only saved like 12 bucks...

Oh yeah i forgot to mention to those who are insterested... i finally got to fixing the problem with my timing... apparently when i swapped the heads in a hurry... i didnt double check to see that the crank sproket was in TDC, i only checked the head... check this out... the belt was off by a tooth or 2.... and i had retarded my distributor all the way before i fixed this and it was still way too advanced...

well now it runs perfect... hauls ass, doesnt smoke(besides the wrap) and im noticing with the wrap that the turbo spools up a lot quicker than it did before...I dont know why i hadnt done this before.. ( i was gonna ceramic coat everything, but that would cost too much)

Next step... wrap the turbo... but im gonna use something a little better...

But damn.. im still itchy.....

Headerwrap is wicked, fiberglass sucks. Gloves help. I was scratchin my hands for like a whole day the first time I did it.
