Headliner revitalizing- For your inner ricer
 

So, instead of storing the original headliner for 5 years, we just used it as a snow sled, and then tossed it. I had to pick up another headliner, and it wasn't that clean. Here's how to revitalize that ----.

Go to the fabric store and pick out your favorite fabric. The time you spend doing this won't be as gratifying if you go with a solid color, so pick out something with a print. I almost went with the Lightning McQueen fabric, but instead went for one I call "Jr high school picture background".

Don't buy the fabric store spray glue. It's garbage, and overpriced. I used 3M Super 77 spray adhesive. It comes out as a mist, where the fabric store junk comes out as stringy, and if you have puddles of glue and you put your fabric down too soon, the glue will soak into the fabric and make it look like you jizzed on it. Mist the headliner, and the fabric seperately, wait a couple minutes, and then lay it over the headliner. You don't want to stretch the fabric too much, or you'll end up with creases. Figure that you'll lay the center, and then have to reapply glue to the corners as you work your way around. The corners can be difficult because of the contours, but just stretch here, press there, and ba-bing.

I spent like 2 hours trying to decide what fabric to get. I really liked the first one I got, but I fucked it up with the glue puddles, and when I went back they didn't have more of it. They had one with dollars all over it, which would have been straight hood, but then I decided this one would be plain enough, yet not solid black or whatever.

It was black with silver swirly things. I threw it away after ------- it up. I figure the headliner is the least seen thing on the car, so I wanted to do something a little more than basic.

maybe I'm boring but I would have just went with black. What wheels are those? Yes 3m glue is the best!!

i'm thinking of doing my headliner and doors in the ugliest pattern I can find....faux tiger or yellow plaid, something along those lines.

I think flesh would look cool. Like if Leatherface or Ed Gein did auto upholstery.
