yea i know how to work them off, because i just took a y8 head off for the mini me. Are there any bolts on the a6 motor connecting the head that arent on the y8. And yea this thing wont budge, so you cannot really work it.

thats what im thinking, i just dont wanna hit it hard then find out there was some mysterious bolt connecting the block to the head, and then my block is fucked. Is it possible for a head to be severly stuck to the block? The motor does have 185k?

MLS gaskets on later engines don't sticky-sticky like composite gasket on the A6.

I had to beat the ---- outta my A6 with a 2lb mallet for it to pop

Just hit the outside area where the valve cover connects and hit inwards

I probably took 20 min to get mine off but my engine was on a stand.

Like JD said, the stock a6 gasket is composite bullshit, have fun scraping that off your block/head to

Yep WOT's right. I had similar issues gettin my A6 head off. Its stuck to that gasket, rubber mallet is your friend. And for getting the old gasket off the block, i used the dremel with the steel brush bit, worked pretty well, then u get hit in the eye with little metal bristles once the brush nears the end of its life. Fun stuff.

im just going to put a piece of a two by four on the water next that connects to the radiator, then hit it with a hammer.
