Ravage70- $2400 Includes getting the block honed and hot taked, type-r pistons and rods. getting a b16 head and putting dual valve springs and titanium retainers and chipping the ecu.

sccaeg- yeah I do know who he is (not a newb)I just dont like to be post wore. My plans for this car are for daily driver and track racing. Yeah I know what you mean I never had a turbo car my self but have a couple friends with turbo car that i've had the pleasure of riding on and i'm also addicted to turbo cars.

you know what's really weird is when you wake up at 5 pm, chug some black cherry koolaid; turn on the radio and plop down in front of the computer with a cig. Then you goto hmt and click on this post and notice that some fat cartoon dude is dancing to 'rock the casba', and not only that but some dude from blue oyster cult is banging away on a cow bell in the same rythm... and yet you have no idea what happened last night or how you made it home... COLLEGE ROCKS.

I'll be honest with you, all motor will cost more money per HP than turbo will at the end. Both all motor and turbo can be "SAFE" setups depending on whos tuning it and how much boost you are running, etc. I would never build an all motor motor just because its not practical in terms of how much money you are going to spend and how much power you are going to get out of it. You could spend $2,500 on your all motor setup and a guy in a "stock" HMT turbo d16 crx will rip you another hole.

I've used those nitrous kits before and have been in a car that has 200 shot of nitrous... basically I love nitrous and never imagined turbo'ing my car. But I'm giving turbo a chance. Just turboed my b16, there are more things involved that just a turbo (thats what I found out, but I wanted it to be a reliable setup so replaced alot of the OEM parts with new parts)... I have to say I'm pretty damn happy with my setup at only 5-6psi... Feels like I'm shooting nitrous on every gear and "GAWD DAMN" that BLOW OFF SOUND SOUNDS SO NICE! I just love looking at the ricer next to me as my turbo is SPPOOOOOOLING (pssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssttttttttt!) and then "PSHSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" I just look over to him with this "IN YOUR MOTHER FUCKEN FACE" look...

Anyways, I've seen the darkside and I dont think I'm turning back. Only thing for me to do now is get a less restrictive exhaust and boost it to 10psi and rape some ***... haha

(I hope this is turbo-gung hoe enough for ya... if not I'll get the cheerleaders! ahha )

B16Drag- You make such good points. My main concern is reliability. Since this is my first turbo install i'm just scared (yeah I say scared so what) :P of not intalling the kit right and not knowing how to tune it right (even tough) xenocron offered to help me out with any Q's I had about using TE. I need peace of mind. lol.

I've never boosted before and this is my first setup. Just make sure you take it slow and make a list of what to get and where to buy it. Replace things that you have the slightest doubt that it will last.

"Measure twice, cut once" applies in this situation. Make sure double check oil lines, exhaust gaskets, pipings etc. TRIPLE check if you have to... But the most important thing to do before doing anything is, make sure your engine is running well before you start... check your compression etc.

Good luck and drop me a message if you need anything. I'm more than happy to bestow upon you the knowledge that I've gained from HMT over the past 6-8months.
