Pistol, I just emailed the guy with the cart, looks like a good candidate for 80mph drifts.
rwd crx... too heavy, this needs to be light.
I would love the fiat 850 but they are hard to find, I want to have something running before the end of august.
Austin mini, too expensive around here, can't find anything decent for under 3k
I'd like to do this whole project for $1000 or less.

I just found a guy about 2 minutes up the street from the shop that has some fiats, renaults, yugos etc.
I may have found a suitable candidate yugo for $400, its ugly, but its a tiny little 2 dr that would be good for rippers. Its a bit gay though because its currently front engine, We'd obviously do a rear mount rwd setup.

Hahaha, no.

Just because I am doing this cheap does not mean I am doing this super ghetto, I mean it will be a bit ghetto, but not full out.

Stripped FIRST GEN CRX is light, at least as light as the fiat on craigslist (though someone with some exact weights can jump in here) It would be at least as light as Sleazy E's bug. With a turbo 600 F4i RWD it would drift at 80mph no problem.

No not as light, those things weight like 1900 stock, gutted probably not under 1400,
that fiat 600 weighs 1290lbs stock. Wouldn;t bee too hard to drop that down to 1000lbs.

fully striped austin mini converted to rwd, google hyabusa (sp) mini and you will be hooked. 600 is a bit small but gears and boost will make everything better.

I'll post up some links later, I wished when I parted my b16a/mini I would have kept the shell and did a hyabusa

Austin mini cost too much, you can't find any decent ones for under 5k.

I vote mower/kart. Mowers once you've lowered them, added disc brakes, and hopped them up and ---- are basically karts with hoods and different steering configurations.
