Harbor Freight

Everytime I go to Harbor Freight I felt like a kid in a candy store, and I always end up buying things that I did not come for. So today I decided to get a metal band saw that they have on sale, i'm tire of cleaning after the chop saw.

Wait go to? Like you walk inside? ??? Damn, I get the cataloges every month, but would die if we had a store around here.

Re: Harbor Freight

I have two of them within 30 min. of me. Its great. Within the first month of me finding them I spent about $1500 in there. All that stuff you think is cheap adds up real fast.

There's one 2 minutes away from where I work. I found this killer metal band saw for only 150, it's used to be 199. I got my chop saw for $50 there. They got some really cheap stuffs.

Harbor Freight is like that trick candy, you know, the ---- that looks real good but tastes like ass.. because you're thinking "damn how can this tool be so cheap?" and then you get it home and it breaks on you, or is otherwise weak as hell.. :P

Steve, if you were local i would let it go for 10$, but that pos is heavy and shipping is totally not worth it. I probabl will end up throwing it away due to lack of space. My accountant/fiancee just give me an ok on the purchase so I should get it today. I don't need anything fancy or powerful, this band saw will be just fine ;D

Yeah, I've got a couple Harbor Freights within 30 minutes of me as well. They're cheap tools (quality and price) but there are some things I would only buy there (like vices pry bars, etc.). The tools are so cheap you really don't care if they break, they're disposable. ;D

Re: Harbor Freight

On sat. and sun. they are having a sidewalk sale. The angle grinders will only be $8.99 each. Trust me though, they DO NOT last long. I got one awhile ago and it was fried in no time. I guess if you won't be using it that much $8.99 isn't bad.

Did you check the little motor brush thingy majiggies? I noticed mine wore out quickly but they included two extra in the box. They almost look like little magnets with springs on them. Anyway, the grinder will stop working when they where down or melt. Just pop 'em out, pop in the new ones and you're good to go again. ^-^

It def. wasn't them. I shouldn't have said fried cause it makes it sound like it could be them. The gears inside took a ---- and it wouldn't even spin anymore. I could still turn it on and everything
