Example:
Steroid Act of 2004 made pro-hormones illegal and categorized as steroids. Pro-hormones WERE a way to legaly get a similar anabolic affect and stay legal and now its not.
Relevance?
Most people wouldn't DARE do illegal drugs (in a realm of normal party-goers) HOWEVER, with Absinthe being LEGAL then it opens up a larger door for the party-goer to get that little 'extra' and still not be concerned about the legal consequences.
It's easy to get drugs, case closed, but this is now legal and therefore people are not afraid to buy it at all. Most drug consumers could probably care less because the risk in getting Absinthe doesn't bother them because they were already illegally getting their fix. It's the law-abiding citizens that will jump all over this new act.

You also stated that smoking pot is stupid...if you feel this way than you should feel that way toward any substance that is going to alter your state of mind, including alcohol and tobacco. Substances affect different people in different ways. I have friends who can't smoke because of how it makes them feel but they love to go out and get drunk/blacked out/ ect... Thats not for me. dont' get me wrong i love drinking every now and then but im the last person you're going to see going out and just becoming a drunken mess. Thats not how i like to feel.

thats pretty much the same as someone posting thier setup on here, i'm sure they spend thousands of dollars just to make you look at them
i dont smoke weed anywhere but my house, so i dont know how thta is trying to get attention.

i wouldnt say pot is a drug being as it is less intoxicating than alchohol. but i'd much rather trip, roll or fall in a k-hole then smoke some herbs.
