Buk, tell your peeps that the more terrorism they participate in, the worse it will be for them. If Russia gives in now, it shows to the whole world that terrorism works. If Israel negotiates with you, it shows that you get rewarded for kidnapping Israel's people.

As soon as you understand this, you'll see why Russia wont give any ground to the rebels and why Israel wont put up with any ----. Same goes for America.

russia gives in? the USSR broke up.. bunch of countries claimed independence.. chechnya included.. what gave russia the right to come in after the ussr broke up and say oh no u wont?

The satelite nations didnt declare independance, it was granted to them. Chechnya is part of the Russian Federation, not part of the former Soviet Union. That would be like if Colorado said ---- this union, we're our own country because we're from Colorado. The federal government would come to Colorado and kick some ----. But let's say the feds allowed for Colorado to be independant. Next time Florida doesnt like something in the constitution, they say ---- this Union, we're out too. Pretty soon America would look like swiss cheese. Not only that, but the federal government would deam itself powerless to control its country.

Do you ever look at the opposing argument?
I mean seriously, if you just think about this unbiased for one minute it's all really clear.

If Iraq was so wrong then why were we giving them money AND weapons while they gassed their own people back in the 80s and early 90s, for much longer than we gave money to Chechnya? Because nothing on a global political level is exactly cut and dry, straightforward, or simple. Duh.

Buk, I don't claim to know a whole hell of a lot about global politics, but it's not hard to see based on some of the concepts (lines in the sand) you're stuck on, and your emergent verbal constructs, that you have a certain degree of blind fanatical bias. A hell of a lot of perspective, and some good insight, but it's like you'd argue with a telephone pole about your anti-semetic dogma...

Israel can have a nuclear program for two reasons:

1. They have an economy that can support military research.
Arabs have an economy that cant even support Stealthmode's wife's shopping habits.

2. Israel doesnt randomly threaten to bomb people like Arabs do.

Chechnya is where the Russian Mafia was and still is centered from.
Thats where all the weapon, drug, and money laundering occurs.
In the 80s, Chechnya was 4x of what Chicago might have been in the 30s-40s as far as the mob goes.

Are you aware of how many different languages and cultures there are in Russia?
Try to grasp the geographical size of the country.
