half.com who uses it?
 

I have old textbooks laying around and I was going to sell them on half.com. They say its the same as ebay, they recognoize my ebay information but they want my bank account number and a credit card? wtf? Is this normal for registering or am I giving my information to a nigerian banker?

It's legit, the only difference is you set your price and there is no bidding, also there is a flat rate for shipping, you don't get to charge your own rates.

I buy off of there all the time get my text books 1/3 to 1/5 what my college bookstore. I use paypal and half.com is part of ebay. I've sold on there once got what I wanted and had no problems.

They need the account information because they have two dedicated paydays every month (like the 15th and last day or the month or something). They pretty much sit on your money until then but you always get it since buyers have to pay immediately. Its a good site to sell old textbooks on though, I got a huge box of them for free on CL that were about 10 years old and sold them all for a good profit.

I know a guy who sells a lot of books through there, it's been three years since I've talked to him but he liked it. Not the same as buying, but he wasn't a shady guy so if he was happy I figure you'd be happy on the receiving end.

I bought two of last semester's books off of Amazon, one was 1/2 off the bookstore the other 5/6ths. Both books new but the expensive one wasn't bundled with an audio CD like it was supposed to be. How does that happen? :S
