I was about to ask was this a common srt thing.A few years back at the mopar nationals during the burnout contest one did this.Luckily for the driver he didn't hit anyone with shrapnel since there was a crowd.

man thats no ---- i bought a civic on a mexican chick a few years back and the motor was blown cause her brother was reving it out and second gear and not shifting...rod through the block dumb *** mexidips

that just made my day. Its one thing to blow your motor, or your trans, but ---- me to have something let go and take your motor, trans, wiring, and you hood. An next neon ****** that comes up to me and talks smack, i'm totally throwing this one in his face. Wish there was a video, i still can't comprehend the force it takes to blow through a bell housing, intake manifold, and hood...
