Hey guys I'm wondering if someone could help me out
on hacking the new motorola v557 so I can use my old
at&t sim card....I'm asking cause cingular has shitty plans
and I dont want to switch over just to use that phone.
An advice?

 

does the new phone not accept sim cards in the back? if it does just slip it in

 

Im pretty sure it takes the sim in the back, but I had another phone a samsung that I had to hack in
order to use the att sim card, before I did it to that phone it just said wrong sim card. But I just
wanting to make sure that I can do it to this phone as well before I buy it.

 

go to a place and see if they can unlock it.

 

I have the v551. The only way to unlock it is with a smartclip (costs around 300 bux) so i sent mine off to an ebay company. they did it for cheap and were quite fast about it

suncom is owned by cingular, i would stay with cingular right now they have a special 1k anytime min for 39.99. and around here cingular gives you the best service (north carolina)

Does AT&T still have seperate plans? I thought they combined with Cingular.
