im pretty sure geico isnt offered in Mass which is pretty bullshit if u ask me. its probly cuz they would redue the prices so much, every 1 would do to them.

Re:Guys check this out... changed my insurance

Well in my case Geico wanted 1200 for 6 months on the old civic, 97 ex, I went to my local insurance guy and paid only 800 a year. In Florida I guess you don't save at all. It didn't work for me. Now I pay about 2000 a year for the WRX and the Hatch

Re:Guys check this out... changed my insurance

I pay $316 every six months for myself (18 years old) and my CRX. Its just liablity but I pay less then anyone else I know. I have never gotten into an accident nor do they know about my outragous speeding tickets.

Re:Guys check this out... changed my insurance

Best advice is that you have to shop around.
I work for GEICO (I am at work now), but I have Statefarm insurance just because it's cheaper and my agent hooks me up.

*INSERT*: I don't do anything with rates/policies at GEICO, I just do BS computer stuff so don't ask me any questions regarding quotes. :P

I have called 7 different insurance companies finding quotes and found the best is Statefarm. For a 100/300 policy I am paying $2400/yr for two cars; a 2000 altima SE with full coverage and no collision/fire/theft on my 86 crx.

Re:Guys check this out... changed my insurance

yeah shopping around is good. I just knew something was wrong when my cousin who was in at least 3 accidents, each causing a few grand in damage, the last one totaled his ford ranger, and he has commercial plates on his new truck and with nationwide he was only paying like $160 a month (maybe less, i cant remember for sure) or so, and he has 4-5 points, im paying about $200+ for 2 cars no accidents so somthings amiss with only 2 pts. As for me, nothing is on my record for speeding except for failure to obey a traffic control device(that was a reduction for going 75 in a 50 getting caught racing a friend... it could have been much worse) other than that any speeding or moving violation i either had dropped or reduced to parking tickets. BTW i am in Buffalo, NY, so i guess it depends on where you live.

Re:Guys check this out... changed my insurance

I called Geico a while back when my insurance was like $261 a month. This is how it went:

Me: Yeah, 94 Civic blah blah blah tickets, drunk driving, criminal speeding....etc....etc...
Her: Ok, well did you get any other quotes?
Me: Yeah, they were outrageous, that's why I'm calling you.
Her: How much were they for?
Me: Like $360 a month with a $1000 deductable and the first 6 months up front.
Her: Ok hold on, I'll go type this in and ---- my ---- while I keep you on hold...
Her: Ok, good news is I got you a better rate so we can go ahead and get that started for you right now.
Me, Ummm...how much is it?
Her: $342 a month....blah blah blah..ok let's go ahead and get you started on this policy then...
Me: Woah, that's too much. I can't pay that.
Her: Well, it's better than your other quotes, let's go ahead and get this policy going for you. You don't want to be driving around with no insurance...
Me; Ummm...no, that's too much money. I can't pay that.
Her: What don't you understand? This is a better rate than your other ones. Let's get this started. You don't want to get into an accident with no insurance.
Me: No thanks, I really can't pay that much. I need some more prices...
Her: [bitchy voice]Well wahtever, when you decide to come back I'll have your forms all filled out and waiting...[/bitchy voice]
Me: Click.
>:(

---- Geico. They give you some fake bullshit quote just to make you think you're getting a good deal and have high pressure sales bitches. >:(

::end of rant::

Re:Guys check this out... changed my insurance

Oh man, you guys don't even want to know the rates on my current car :-\ :'( Let's just say with the money I could probably have a built b-series and more. :'(

Heck when I had my 88 HF, insurance was 130 a month, that's right a month, with the most basic ---- CA accepts. Liability only and like a 20/30 coverage or some cheap ---- like that. When I wanted to switch the policy to my 91 they wanted to up it like 20 more a month :'(

What the ---- you guys ask? Let's just say, don't flee :-\

Re:Guys check this out... changed my insurance

try progressive. my cars only cost me 320/ six months for my 95. I am speed racer, I had a picture of me in the police station, and a picture of my CRX when I was in high school. I had over 20 moving violations, but my license was still valid somehow. well, its been over five years now tho......

hybrdcivic95 05-25-2004 05:50 AM

Re:Guys check this out... changed my insurance

i have progressive and its still 251/mo my wife has:
speeding 85/55
speeding70/45
speeding55/35 - school zone (payed $125 extra for that, it was a $419 ticket served by the ga st. patrol)
at fault accident
at fault accident
comprehensive claim over $3,000(deer whistles dont work apparently)

Liabilty dropped on CRX till I was paying 45$ a month for Liability only... was 60$ a month, so about ohh say 30% less

Now with my new impreza my Liability is 445 for 6 months....but the real kicker is comprehensive and collision that boosts it up to like 1200$ for 6 months

Oh I also have a clean record with only one ticket for 12 mph over

crx2fast 05-25-2004 02:42 PM

Re:Guys check this out... changed my insurance

well i only have had 2 tickets, but...
1 was in texas, out of state so it dosent show up ;D
2 was a gay ass speeding ticket for goin 5 mph over. sent it in not guilty and it got thrown out ;D
so i basicly have no tickets. o-yea and my mommy pays for my insurace :-*

Re:Guys check this out... changed my insurance

I pay $550 down and $250ish a month. For 6months !!!
93' saturn SL1) minumum coverage ( paid $800 cash for it )
01' focus "full coverage"
1 ticket for "driving on the wrong side of the street" hehe. ( cop was nice enough not to meantion the other civic beside me as we were both doing about 100mph ). That ticket comes off in June.
Sooo... $2050 for 6months... sweet... Progressive.
Alstate wanted $550 down and $330 a month to add my civic, so I just sport the Saturn tag when I feel like driving the civic a little...

$330 a month for a $5000 focus and some busted ass old passenger cars... You'd think I told them my civic was "turbo".

Re:Guys check this out... changed my insurance

Keep an eye on your geico rates. They gave me this super cheap rate when I joined with them, but then every six months it would go up. I started at 91 a month for a 99 DX in 99, but a year and a half later it was up to 122 a month. I switched to progressive and they did the same thing. Then I wised up and went to the local state farm guy. Since we grouped my wifes car and mine and have our renters insurance through them I pay 57 a month and that is with a ticket on my record.

Re:Guys check this out... changed my insurance

Ha, mines like $124 a month. I don't know how. But I think that it has to do with the five cars that we own.
