I was looking for an Si tranny and came across this

I emailed him and asked him about the casting numbers.

This is my message:
Those numbers in the picture mean nothing. What are
the numbers on the case? They are just above the oil
fill bolt in a small cirle. There should be two
different sets of numbers on top of each other.
Could you tell me what they are please?

I just went through this situation with someone who sold me a DX tranny as an Si tranny.

This same guy is selling a "92" 1.5 motor with "flat top pistons". He says all 1.5 motors had flat top pistons and it raises the compression creating more power.

------- idiot is going to **** people off when they get there fucked up parts.

P20/S20 trannys are SI/EX trannys. I highly doubt he swapped stickers on the trannys.

DX's Do have "Flat Top Pistons" but, I think he just got confused, the reason the C/R goes up on a mini-me is more because the CC's are less in the Vtec heads.

I really wouldnt worry about it.

Yeah, but it's a "P20 A000" which would indicate it's a DX/CX/VX tranny.

Thanks, but I'm looking for a 92-95 D series Si tranny. I'm getting kinda scared to buy from anybody nowadays. This is the second person I have ran into that was trying to sell a DX tranny as an Si tranny. Although this guy did say he was going to cancel the auction and relist it as a DX. I think I pissed him off.

Hey Dr.Boost,
At a quick glance in the first pic, there is one small indication that the tranny did not come from an ex/si.
On the back of the tranny, look at the bottom holes.
On the d16z6, rear engine stiffeners bolt to the bottom 2 holes. When you take them off, the hole, threads, and surrounding area will be clean. In the picture, the right one is dirty as if it were exposed. Just like my old dx tranny. hrmmmm?!??
but case stamps prove the clue.
