Consumers already recognize the 9mm Compact as an exceptional value in its category. Now polymer technology has allowed us to take this popular handgun one step farther. The 9mm Polymer is ¼ lb. lighter than our original 9mm Compact. At 29 oz., this all-weather handgun boasts an even smoother action, reduced recoil, and a scratch resistant frame.
*New rear peep sight for handguns shipped with each gun. All Hi-Point firearms now shipped with dual lock trigger. .

Advantages of the Polymer Frame:

The Polymer frame used on the 9mm Compact offers the shooter several advantages. First, it will decrease the weight of the weapon. Secondly, the forgiving nature of the polymer will decrease the felt recoil when firing the weapon. The polymer frame that is used by Hi-Point is a very high-tech, durable material that will serve the shooter for decades to come.

wow I didn't know you could make a gun for 150. I would guess that would have to be questionable quality?

If they sell for 150 where you live you are getting waxed. All the local shops have the c9 for 119 and the 45 for 150..Not saying they are a horrible gun,but would i trust my life on one? No.If you want it to just plink with then go for it.I had a 45. It shot accurate enough and never jammed/stove piped with maybe 500 shitty wolf rounds threw it.Highpoints also have a lifetime warranty that they are good at honoring, but still there have been enough cases of them failing for me not to want to use one as a carry or home defense gun.Yea they have a good warranty but what's the point if i'm not around to make a claim because it failed when I needed it.If you ask around the guns themselves have a shitty reputation.they probably don't have a problem replacing them since they are probably dirt cheap to make.

Btw how did you take it apart in the pawn shop? that's another thing i don't like about highpoints. You need tools to take it apart. You have to knock out that pin that's right in front of the trigger gaurd. If it's really brand new that pin isn't easy to knock out with anything other then a punch.Once it's been apart a few times (maybe 10) it slides in and out with ease.I own a few guns from hanguns to ar-15's to sks's and the only tool i need to take them apart is maybe a shell/bullet if that.

cliffnotes...
buy it to shoot bottles? yes
buy it to shoot bottles and protect home? no

me and my friend both had the 45 hi point pistol. there cool cheap guns to shoot. there a bit heavier and generic compared to other guns, nothing special about them. just a gun that will make ------s run when you pull it out. and fun to blast holes in ----. niether of us got ours sited all that well but did fine compared to a few other buddys hand guns. my friend still has his and i think he might have cleaned it once and has ran 1000's of rounds threw it. i put over 1000 rounds easily with mine too without any problems. comparing it to car parts its better then cdm, but like the saying goes you get what you pay for. so as long as your not expecting a fancy gun then go for it.

oh and theres been lots of gun threads about hi point pistols, my other friend actually has a 9mm riffle i forgot about. its just like a pistol but with the longer barrel. the fireing pin actually broke on his. but they have a life time garuantee, i guess you can just send them in to the ware house. but he bought his from a pawn shop too so he just took it to a gun shop, has yet to get it back.

I bought mine about a year ago. The only thing i don't like about it is that it is top heavy, and doesn't like short ammo. Gotta use the longer range ammo or it will jam. But i have put probably 400 rounds threw it this year, and only had 1 actual jam with the right kind of ammo. Good gun for just plinking around. Pretty heavy for its size.

tell him to go to whatever shop and get it back..It doesn't matter if you bought it new or if it has been passed around to 8 different people they will honor the warranty. From their website..

"All Hi-Point firearms carry a lifetime, no-questions asked warranty. Whether you are the original purchaser, or a third-hand owner, your Hi-Point firearm will be repaired free of charge."

I read a story on a firearm forum about some guy who bought a used 9mm rifle for 20 bucks from his neighbor or some ----.Apparently his neighbor went bubba on it and cut off the butt, and using electrical tape added on a collapsible butt stock from an airsoft rifle, cut off the sights and tapped a laser sight to it.basically he fucked that rifle up.he called high point and they still replaced it.
