Also, Sinister- The bible speaks of Hades, but it does not refer to it as an eternal Hellfire. Think about this for a moment, Jesus sacrifice paved the way for forgiveness of our sins correct? However, we have to believe in his ransom and his role in that to take advantage of that. There's many people who don't feel that way that sin. Because Jehovah(god) is all about forgiveness, why would it make sense that for a relatively minimal period of time on earth, say 70 years, that we could do enough to warrant eternal suffering? It just doesn't make sense.
The second part is a bit more involved. The whole purpose of Witnesses is not to tell people that everything in their life is wrong. It is merely to get them the message of God's word, if they choose to accept that or not is their choice. (this is leading somewhere) So, Witnesses believe that armaggedon will come, and the earth will be turned into a paradise on which humans can live forever in paradise, under a heavenly kingdom ruled by Jesus. Now, the bible states there will be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous. Basically it is saying that those who died who followed God's commandments who died, and also those who never got the chance to hear God's word before they died will be resurrected. Those who had the chance to change their life course but chose to follow their own selfish ends will die, but not go to eternal hellfire, rather, they simply die, and cease to exist. Those who survive armageddon and those who are resurrected then go through a 1000 year period where they attain to perfection, during this time Satan is locked away so he does not have an influence on anyone. At the end of this time, he will be let out for a short time, there will be those who at this time choose to follow him, Those will be destroyed along with Satan himself, and the remainder will live forever in a paradise.
Kind of long but, our place is here on the earth, not in heaven. Jehovah's original purpose as stated in the bible was to fill the earth and subdue it. That purpose has not been changed. Simply delayed to settle the issue of soverignty that Satan brought up. He stated that man would be better off ruling itself. Today we can see the effects of man in charge. With this issue settled, Jehovah can now fulfill his original purpose.
There's a lot more to it, but that's the condensed version.
Two gold stars to whoever manages to make it all the way through that
