They were condemmed because they were Godless.

Sorry if I seem bias, but my father was a Luthren pastor for 32 years. He's also mighty pissed off at organized religion, I might add.
You still didnt touch on the "contradictory statements" at all

I feel the same. I don't like what they're doing but they're still people, and I'll treat them as such.
That's a common mistake. Homosexuality was one of the MANY reasons that Sodom and Ghomora was destroyed. a TON of people only look at the homosexuality, thats where the word Sodomy comes from also...
Do go into a little more detail here please
What gay bashing am I doing I'm not saying HOMOSEXUALS WILL BURN IN THE DEPTHS OF HELL FOR THEIR SINS...Now am I?
Sounds like a good reason to quit, actually. Some churches focus TOO MUCH on things like that. My old church, he used to preach about abstinence and not cheating ALL THE TIME. Although he told people abortions were okay, and its better to have an abortion than to have a child outside of wedlock, and he cheated on his wife about 15 times or so. My one old pastor just got kicked out because he stole from the church. There's only been two pastors I really liked; One is retired and the other preaches at a church about an hours drive from here, but both of them dont focus on the single passages like you say; every now and then he'd discuss the significance of individual verses and such but more of the overall picture of others. He invited us to bring ANYONE and EVERYONE to church that wanted to. He doesnt press his beliefs on anyone at all either; my uncle is an atheist to the extreme and him and Rev. Ailes are good friends.

First of all: Homosexuality IS wrong, and it says so in the bible several times, it is listed as something that God hates, right along with adultry, murdering, and fornication (sex out of wedlock)
Abortion is just plain wrong, no matter what the circumstances, if my wife got raped and got pregnant, I'd have to live with that. It's not the baby's fault they were concieved, this is also clearly pointed out in the bible.
Jesus did walk ON the water, how do I know this? Because the bible is inspired of God, and he instructed the bible writers what to write, and it is always truthful. How do I know this? It's called faith people.
Hell doesn't exist, when someone dies, they die. There is no immortal soul.
The vast majority of organized religion these days is so corrupt that people can see it openly, and realize how hypocritical it is.
Speaking of this, starting the 16th of this month, Jehovah's Witnesses will be starting a massive campaign to talk to people about this issue. (Actually we are there to distribute a pamphlet that speaks of getting out of false religion, because it's downfall is near. I know you will all be happy to hear that we are not going to involve you in a 30min talk about this, but rather just to inform you of it and leave the pamphlet with you. This is a very big campaign, and I challenge any of you within 3 months of Oct. 16 to come and tell me that someone did not try to leave a copy with you. So you can look forward to that)
The bible does not contradict itself, you must understand the circumstances around the account to understand WHY it is saying what it is. To take one scripture out of context and compare it to another and say, "look it's contradicting here" is simply ignorant.

Re: Guess What
^ Since you're apparently a JW, can you explain to me why you guys do not believe in Hell, although it is mentioned a ton of times in the Bible? And you say there is no immortal soul; so what happens after "believers" die?
