I need some advice. I met a guy today at a junk yard (he works there) and we started talking. He said he has a 1995 GSR complete swap. He was asking $1200.00, I said $1000.00 and he said OK. He said I would get the following:

1. engine
2. transmission
3. axles and engine mounts
4. wiring harness
5. computer

He also said he has a copy of the title. The original owner swap it for a JDM Type-R engine. According to him it has less than sixty thousand miles. How does this sound?

^^ I would think that too. people sell LS swaps for about that, so I would get some kind of guarentee on it.

id say its fucked up, or has like 200k on it, even stolen gsrs sell for 1500

Thanks guys for all the feed back. I had some doubts about the condition of the motor when I heard the price. I am going to get some guarantee before I jump on it. He is going to show me it mid next week so I'll keep you guys posted.

pull the head and oil pan off b4 you buy it. $40 isn't much to spend on a $1k investment.

Deals like that do exist. A couple years ago I got a complete GSR swap from a 96 for $500.00 and they even pulled everything out for me.

I got lucky enough and the place didnt know anything about swaps yet so they gave me a regular price on everything. I've gotten lucky at the places that have set prices and took home an h22 swap for 450

Yesterday I went to a junk yard inquiring about a stock fuel pressure regulator. When I told the guy at the front desk it was for a D16Z6 VTEC a conversation started. He told me he has a complete GRS swap and a copy of the title. I said you want two arms and a leg for it and he said just $1200.00. I said how about $1000.00? He paused for a while then he said OK. So, that's how it happened.

I now get them all the time considering I'm a registered salvage dealer in PA.

The motors I was talking about were from when I was younger. I found the H22 at a U Pull It yard that had set prices and the other was from a yard that didn't know anything about the "tuner scene"

Like a steal. As in from another car! lol. Thats pretty cheap. Almost too cheap. Do a compression test on it if you can and pull the VC and oilpan if you can before hand. I'd be in heaven if my pick and pull could get some newer tegs or some h22 ludes. Consider all motors are 150 but no guarantee. I got my longblock LS for obd1 150.

They actually just got another LS in today that manual. I scored the ecu and someother ---- off it already.
