Sounds like you may have just bent the dust shield and its hitting the rotor....

I just went out for an early morning drive, the grinding is at its loudest at low speeds and light cornering, it really has no pattern when it makes the noise, anytime in any gear 1-3

Its grinds for no more than 1 second at a time, stops, grind, sometimes once, sometimes once sometime 4 times until you get up to speed, even at higher speeds I can hear a soft rubbing

I should mention that it only seems to do it with the car in gear, doesnt matter if its accelerating or decelerating

I also have a feeling in my shifter, a clucnking feeling when you push the shifter forward further than you need to and hold it there, you can feel a pulse in the shifter every second or two, just moves the shifter a little bit.

I dont know if something needs replaced or if something just wasnt installed right.... it seems to be ocming fomr the passenger side but its so hard to tell

Check your dust shield. I just went thru this on my eg that i swapped a B18 into. I heard this crazy metal on metal sound, so when i pulled it apart it was the dust sheild. You need to take off your caliper and rotor, and theres 3 phillips head screws holding it in. take it off, your sound should go away. You can tell if it was rubbing on something, by either discoloration or there will be a hole in it somewhere. I had a hole in mine from rubbing the back side of my rotor.

this might be a dumb comment but run your fingers over your rotor, feel for dips in it. they should be pretty much smooth. if theres dips in it then maybe you have a braking problem..?? Also, look on your axle, where it runs into the rotor and stuff, and look for exsessive amounts of grease. if your axles going bad, normally they start throwing axle grease everywhere.

i should probably also mention that when I did the engine swap, one of my boots on the axles were torn so I threw in another Crx axle

it wasnt on the side that I think is making the noise, it was the long drivers side one

I dunno I need some help guys, Im broke and I have car troubles

wow if it takes you 3hrs to do axles you don't need to be doin them. axles take 1hr for both sides if that. sounds like the dust shields behind the rotor are rubbing. YES your car was equipped from the factory with them so they should still be there. its common when noobs do brakes that they accidently bend the dust shields into the rotor thus causing loud rubbing grinding noise at any speed and turns. take the wheel off and pry the black dust shield further away from the rotor, then while you have the car up put the wheels, tighten them and check for any play, if the wheel "wiggles" its a possible wheel bearing which you can't sometimes feel, maybe try putting the car in 1st WITH THE WHEELS OFF THE GROUND FIRST and listen for the noise

I think I woulda noticed some dust shields

Axles are $139 a piece so that might not be an option right now

Any other way to figure out what it is?
