Greddy turbo kit, no intake pipe...help!
I have everything I need for my used turbo kit (goes on 98 Civic EX) except for the intake pipe that goes from where the waterbox use to be, up to the intake manifold. I have gone everywhere asking if they supplied intake pipes that would fit and no one seems to have one. EBay does not seem to have what I am looking for unless I pay $250.00 plus shipping. Is there anyone who can help me with this? Any help at all would be appreciated, thank you.

Re:Greddy turbo kit, no intake pipe...help!
just buy some u bends from JC whitney or some crush bend from pep boys..brush bend will work just as good as mandrell....
|
Re:Greddy turbo kit, no intake pipe...help!
or you can buy rubber bends from homedepot in the plumbing section but they do give out..
|
Re:Greddy turbo kit, no intake pipe...help!
I take it crush bend means I can bend it with my bare hands? That'll make me feel manly
|
Re:Greddy turbo kit, no intake pipe...help!
its not hard to make your own..its like making a intake...why did you buy that kit anyways? how much was it?
|
Re:Greddy turbo kit, no intake pipe...help!
The greddy kit pipe goes down like a cold air intake, doesn't it, thru the same hole, so you could buy a cheap ass ebay intake, the ones that are like $25, and use it.
or use a u bend from jc whitney, they are like $25.00 http://www.cse.uconn.edu/~yelevich/turbo/t17.jpg http://www.cse.uconn.edu/~yelevich/turbo/t18.jpg http://www.cse.uconn.edu/~yelevich/turbo/t19.jpg there's more info here http://www.cse.uconn.edu/~yelevich/turbo/turbo.html |
Re:Greddy turbo kit, no intake pipe...help!
easy way is go to muffler shop and ask them to bend you some 2.5 or 2 for the greddy kit. Shouldnt be more than 30 bucks but i would recommend down the line getting some mandrel bends.

Re:Greddy turbo kit, no intake pipe...help!
Those cheap $25 air intake kits dont work, I have already tried one. I only paid $1,000 for the turbo kit, already have the missing link, fmu, blow off valve, downpipes, everythign except for an intake pipe. I am really getting frustrated about it.

Re:Greddy turbo kit, no intake pipe...help!
i spent 200 bucks on my ---- most went to the manifold and the smic
|
Re:Greddy turbo kit, no intake pipe...help!
I apologize for not knowing where to get an intake pipe, its just I dont exactly want to be so cheap about it that it breaks or doesnt last. Keep in mind I still have to drill and weld a blow off valve in to this pipe.

Pretty self-explanatory. As far as i know, do these so called "kits" come with charge pipes? let me give you a minute to think..... .....ok, good enough, no, they don't. that's why you bought a used kit, and why you're looking for more piping, isn't it? i was simply stating that you need to research if you don't know what crush bends, mandrel bends, or ABS pipe is. this website is dedicated to helping people out, but not when they're assholes. don't bite the hand that feeds you |
Re:Greddy turbo kit, no intake pipe...help!
I don't consider someone who is threatening to "flame" me the next time I post a person who feeds me. Sorry, I don't know where your from, but around here that would be considered threatening my next post.
Pic of my engine bay: http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/622972 4th pic down, not a very good one of my engine bay. |
Re:Greddy turbo kit, no intake pipe...help!

Re:Greddy turbo kit, no intake pipe...help!
USE A COLD AIR INTAKE PIPE!
How many more times does it need to be said. I did it, and it worked fine. The cold air intake pipe goes from your TB right to the ------- spot where the up pipe from the greddy kit comes into the engone bay. Use whaterve the ---- you can find to mate the two of them up, its not a big deal. |
