Got a ticket today,

So, I was leaving school today and once I turned on to a main road went through my first 2 gears, like I do everyday (makes me happy to feel boost after a boring school day). No traction like always and ---- is loud when I,m boosting to redline. About a mile later I get pulled over by a cop and he tells me my exhaust was louder than normal. Told me that ---- was illegal and fined me $139 for it and another $124 for cracked windshield. Have a question though, He just handed the ticket over to me without having me sign it and he spelled my first name wrong (missing a letter) after that he left. I want to know if the ticket is valid or not. Let me know what you guys think before I call the police station or a lawyer to ask.

Re: Got a ticket today,

what is ur first name and how bad does that 1 letter affect it? like if ur name is John and Jon was written

I know if they spell ur last name wrong that can potentially void a ticket, or if they write the wrong car. I'm really not too sure on ur case tho.

In FL if u have a cracked windshield in the driver's view, insurance usually takes care of it, or at least reimburses u for it

Re: Got a ticket today,

Dmitriy and he wrote it as Dmitry. Also, you have to sign the ticket when he hands it to you which automatically signs his copy too, which means you agree to getting pulled the ---- over, and promise to schedule a court date.

Re: Got a ticket today,

You should be able to get a repair and report before they issue you a ticket. I had a asshat cop do the same ---- with me. I took my car to the police station, had another officer listen to my car, and he wrote off the ticket.

Re: Got a ticket today,

I've never had to sign a ticket. Where the ---- you live? *Ninja edit* Washington

Re: Got a ticket today,

what about windshield?, change that ---- before sending out the ticket, too? Might come out cheaper cuz i'll do that ---- myself.
Because i do not have a problem with temporarily welding a piece of stock ---- on, might even keep it permanent from future police troubles.

Re: Got a ticket today,

In Washington, if you refuse to sign the green copy he'll ask you to sign the yellow copy, and if you refuse again, he'll ask you to sign a red one. If you refuse for the 3rd time he has a right to take you to jail. Im probably going to call up a lawyer and see if signing is required.
I actually thought he would write me a reckless/negligent second degree because that's what burning out / unsafe accelaration and plus the car get's all over the place with no traction.

Re: Got a ticket today,

if u have no prob wit it....i suggest welding a stock muffler to some pipe and put it on the car for a day, just to take it to the police station and be like "how is this loud?" then go home and change that ---- back

Re: Got a ticket today,

The LS spools the turbo very quick, so stock exhaust might not be too bad. Anybody know a place where I can buy a new windshield? Feel like replacing that ---- too.

Re: Got a ticket today,

i went 73km/h in a 30km/h school zone, the cop got me on laser as he was standing at the next light, pulled me to the side, took my info and said youll get your ticket in the mail, i said i didnt see the school zone sign being as im not from that area and because the construction working in the area are all over the sides of the road blocking the signage, all he said was "tell it to the judge" and walked away....now im paranoid as to what fine and how many points im going to get chopped.. >:( if im going to fight this i need to get pics of the area and how you can't see the signage due to the construction in the areas, i just hope there still there tomorrow as i was on my way to work and had no digi cam...fukin sux the bad

Re: Got a ticket today,

yep, sure does. Take pics in a way that clearly shows the sign being blocked out. Also, was it school time or children present?

Re: Got a ticket today,

Don't just pay them bitches, hire a lawyer. It might cost a little more than the ticket itself, but won't go on your DMV record or rise your insurance cost.

Re: Got a ticket today,

just an fyi- washington changed the law back in june so that you don't actually have to sign a ticket. good luck with the misspelling, i'm pretty sure you're still going to be fucked, as he probably wrote down your license # correctly.

ya its been changed, they used to ask all the time for you to sign the ticket. it seems like the last two years they dont even bother with it(could be last june for the whole state)but seems like they havent been having me sign anything for longer then that. i asked my lawyer awhile back and he said it doesnt matter any more. cops in my town are just as shitty. last year i got 3 to loud of exhaust tickets. on one court date i had 2 to loud of exhaust tickets and a seat belt ticket. i was able to get out of all three. every signle ticket i got was going to work at midnight while there looking for drunk drivers. which meant they loved pulling me over hoping i was drunk because they had a easy excuse to pull me over. then not sure why but last year seemed like every cop wanted to give me a ticket for something last year. i know if they get the street wrong its a easy off, and its never hurts to get a traffic lawyer and ask him how easy it is to get off the ticket with a screwed up last name. sometimes when you go in by yourself and bring something up like that they will just laugh and try and make you look stupid. but if a lawyer does it, its a whole different story.

I jumped a green light today and boosted to 65mph, saw a cop on the oncoming side of traffic throw his lights on and cut over to make a U-turn.. I turned down the next neighborhood and saw him fly by in my mirrors, hahah ;D

it's a promise to appear, not admitting guilt.

well here almost everything is elective unless its a dui or underage, and our courts never have the issuing officer present, never befor a judge always a court official, and always in a room with about 50 other people. they are like mass sessions, and it goes 1 person at a time in no order until it is done.

Re: Got a ticket today,

I might just end up fixing the problems and stop by a local PD to get the ---- checked off before mailing in the ticket.

your fucked - best thing you can do is at like 4 in the am ---- up the sign some how that doesn't make it seem as if it was intentional. (borrow a friends truck and ram that sign)... not too much.. when the sun is out take a pic ...go to court and tell them some one bent it back but it was worse. .. ticket dismissed ..next

and the next night go and fix it.((ninja edit?))

what the ---- is ninja edit?

Re: Got a ticket today,

aren't those just fix it tickets where the fine/ticket gets thrown away if you prove that you fixed those things within a certain period of time?

Re: Got a ticket today,

I don't know, but it's definitely worth a try to get them checked off. I have 14 days left to send it in. No school tomorrow, so might start on the exhaust tonight/tomorrow.

Man around here the fine double in a construction zone. To many construction workers getting killed by dumbasses blazing through the work zones. You'd be double fucked if you tried that excuse here

Re: Got a ticket today,

yeah speeding in a work zone is not a good idea to bring up

Re: Got a ticket today,

quit being a stupid ----. he got you. Have your INS fix the windshield, weld a god damned resonator on your nasty ass sounding honda i4. appear to the judge and say that the officer was simply looking for things to be a jerk about... As in your pissy window crack not blocking the field of view (take a picture). and like all honda's, your muffler rusted out after afew years. Which you have since replaced.

Done and done. You're out free.

In Alabama construction zones are double fined, WHEN WORKERS ARE PRESENT. Not present ---- it.
