no there nothing the same. CDI is for computerized digital ignition.

my dad owns a motorcycle shop, send me a pm so i wont forget, and ill ask him if he can get one. well ----, just call this number 1-229-326-8666 its for steves cycle salvage in tifton ga. thats where we get the majority of our parts from, that and my dad worked there for about 5 years before starting his own repair buisness. there one of the biggest if not the biggest in the usa

ps, you dont need to swap the whole wireing system to replace the CDI box, and that is a pritty common thing to go bad on those bikes. if i remember right they dont have points, so if your not getting fire thats likely a problem

only reason i mentioned megasquirt is cause he seems to not want to do the right thing so that was another option.

and no, you can just run ignition from MS on a carbed engine if i remember right. but look on ebay for the cdi box or dirt bike forums.

its missing the cdi box. i know it has compression and i looked inside at the piston and cylinder wall which are in new shape. so my next step is to get the ignition wiring and im asking if i can use my 50cc wiring since i dont want to spend alot to get the pos fixed. there isnt any cdi's on ebay for the bike.
