Got a new job
I was working at advance auto parts because they were willing to work around school, but I was getting job offers while making deliveries to shops in the area. Finally the one made an offer I couldn't turn down. So now I'm back to wrenching, now at the local Honda dealer. They run teams of 4, 2 techs (head tech & apprentice tech) and 2 lube techs (oil change bitches). They're starting me out as an apprentice tech until I learn the product line, but they want to move me to a head tech ASAP because they need to start a couple more teams to keep up with the work load.

working in a dealership is the best way to work on cars.

Re: Got a new job
Yeah. I've worked in a different Honda dealer before. Started as a parts man, moved to lube tech, then quit cause the manager was a dumbfuck and the company kept trying to ---- me out of mooney. Then worked at a nissan dealership and got my Nissan certification. Quit there because the general manager was imbezling tons of $$ and started claiming I stole like $800 worth of tires (I didn't, his brother did, they tried to frame me). Worked at a Toyota dealer, got my T10, ASE Master Tech, and did decent at Skills USA/VICA (4th nationally). I quit at Toyota because they wouldnt work with my new school schedule. While I was working at Nissan I was also working at a nearby independant shop evenings for some extra $$. Independant shops have nice flexibility, but dealerships have way better benifits and training.
